Count your life by smiles, not tears. Count your age by friends, not years.
Good day, Hivers! Here I am again sharing good vibes and positivity with you of how I celebrated my 30th birthday🥰.
Birthdays come only once a year and we celebrate them the way that we want. Earlier this September in the morning, I was greeted by my husband who aske me what will we prepare for my birthday. I just simply replied, "Bam-i and fried chicken will do. We will gather together with my family (my side) during dinner". After hearing those, he nodded. Then, I prepared everything as I go to school including the snacks for my students.
At school
As I was directed to the biometric, my students keep on looking at me from afar feeling excited. I don't mind since they don't know that day was my birthday. I felt strange as I saw my classroom closed and silent. When I opened the door, a sounding blow of the song happy birthday was sang by my students. They handed me a cake in a plastic bag. I thought it was a gift for me. Indeed, a bag full of coffee but not for me though, it's for them. I discouraged them to drink 3in1 coffee regardless of the brand, they should prefer milk over it.
I placed it in front to say how happy I am for their surprise. I never expected it since I didn't tell anyone but Facebook did. I am so happy with my class because they are thoughtful and responsible in every task they have. Such a blessing to have them.
Then, I distributed snacks to them. It's not much but I made it with a heart, plus a juice drink that I bought. My heart is full as I saw them happy receiving their snacks.
With my ever-supportive colleagues. Photo grabbed from
In the afternoon, we had a "budol fight" with my co-teachers. It was Bangus (milkfish, our national fish in the Philippines) with corn rice (ground corn). Eating with colleagues is so much fun! Especially when we eat with our bare hands but we made sure to wash our hands properly.
At home
Introducing my mother and my supportive brother who is also a teacher.
I couldn't be happier if the time ticks to 5 p.m., which means we have to go home. My husband fetched me at school and as we headed to our home, he said "Happy Birthday and I love you". I feel strange again. As I opened the door, I was shocked and in awe when I saw everyone was there. Their happy faces made me even happier. The support they have given to us made our relationship as neighbors stronger. Also, a big thanks to my husband and brother who made this birthday successful.
Thoughts I pondered
After the celebration, we cleaned everything and went to bed. I thanked my husband for his effort of surprising me, how sweet🥰. I wasn't expecting those surprises from morning 'till night.
Now I'm 30, life changes a lot compared to my past years. Life is amazing when we follow Him by His will. When we give, never expect in return because will just be disappointed. As long as we have the heart to give, He will double the blessing!
