Because tell me why once money enters your account, it’s like the universe sends a millions of issues you way to handle. I don’t know how it works for some of you but as a young adult, I’m still trying to get a hang of it because it really is exhausting. From what I have seen and experienced, I’m more than appreciative when someone gives me any amount of money because I can’t begin to imagine how many hours of work they had to put in to get me that. I really don’t take it lightly.
As human, it’s totally normal to go broke sometimes and need some extra cash which would lead you to reaching out to friends and family. I barely ask people for stuff but when I do, I make sure I’m not inconveniencing them. I’ve had friends reach out to me for some cash and when I look at my budget for the month, I know I’m going to suffer if I should dip my hand into it so I just tell them I’m in a tight stop. And you won’t believe some of them get mad that I can’t help them in that money. Money that I worked for- my own money that I’m surviving on and you’re mad that I can’t give it to you for free. I mean, if I should give it to you it’s either I go out to beg or die and I know you sure won’t give me some even if you had it.
I’ve given money I needed so much to people and ended up getting ghosted for it. I had to learn my lesson the hard way when I was left to eat food with no protein for a week because someone took money from me and refused to return it. The rule now is, don’t give out money you’re not ready to lose to others. If you see me giving money to someone even as a loan, it means I wouldn’t mind losing it or being ghosted.
People can be very selfish with money that doesn’t even belong to them and so you that owns your money have to be very very careful and selfish because most of these people won’t come through for you when you need them. And don’t let anyone make you feel bad for not giving them your hard earned money.
