After less than an inch of rain all of October November has begun with the faucet open. In the first 24 hours of the month we have already gotten more rain than the prior month, .75". Yesterday morning I dumped out .35" from the gauge in the morning and I just emptied out .4".
This was how the morning doppler looked and it stayed pretty much this way all day with constant rain of some level.
My morning was spent on my story for NaNoWriMo, Duolingo lessons, and Python lessons (and trying to not be in such pain).
Mid day there was a slight lull where it was just sprinkling and I had to get out to do something. Despite my back being really jacked up I still needed to move all the plastic from the garden and condense the fence pile for when snow comes. The fence was fairly easy to move around and it gives me a lot more space to get the trailer by.
I was dragging the sheets of plastic mulch from by the fence of the garden to a pile by the fence and when I moved the plastic it was littered with massive earth worms. The garden fence was to the right and the herd of turkeys to the left so the lucky worms got hucked over the fence out of the reach of the birds.
The plastic is all piled now. Most of it will end up trashed once I get the new sheets all cut and ready for next year. I may need some for filler possibly.
The batch tried to be done earlier but I had to put it in for longer as the top tray still had moisture to it. Once the extra time ended they were all nicely finished.
2 trays of Golden Cail Wonder, 1.5 trays of King Of The North, and 1.5 trays of Pizza peppers.
I am making sure to do my duty and bag the freeze dried stuff in mylar right away. I have let far too much sit after getting run and it all rehydrates some. These all got stuck in the peppers bin in the basement for which I will need another one as it is packed full.
I really have to figure out my hip and back. I massage the hip joint on the right side and it shoot pain all through my mid section.
No rain today but it is the very last day for harvesting the celery row and the chard row which I will do late morning and get it all to the cooler. Once they are harvested the plastic will all get rolled in the last areas and irrigation coiled which will be the very last bits of the gardens to winterize. We have scouts this evening and I need to make sure to get tank heaters setup for the animal waters with the 22F freeze coming tonight.
