Woke up to more rain and had nearly half an inch in the gauge. It did not last much into the morning before the sun popped out from between the clouds. It got windy and bits of rain fell as little cells rolled past.
After taking R to school I went to startup a water feature and irrigation system for my doctor friend. It's always good to get a chance to talk with him and converse about the world and the craziness around. It's crazy the sub-division he is in has only a couple of lots left to build on. I have been working for him since about 2008 and I have seen the incredible build out of the sub. I couldn't imagine living like that with other houses 10 feet away and others looming overhead up the hillside.
I was back home in time to hang out for a few minutes before going and picking up the boys from school. It was amazing since J was actually out early, normally he is out 3 to 5 minutes after the other classes. Back on the farm I went out and gt the chick brooder setup since we are getting our chick order from Dunlap Hatchery in Caldwell Idaho tomorrow morning. I just need to wash out the waterer and I need to go get chick feed.
After getting the brooder going I emptied and filled the water for the sheep and added in another tub for now. I will get all the water tubs back in soon but it is still cool enough they aren't guzzling the water yet.
The last little bit of snow is just about gone from the garden and now I just wait for it to dry out enough I can start tilling. The grain holds a lot of moisture so I am hoping for a nice prolonged dry spell to get it done.
Right after got home from work our friend stopped by with a load of food to put into the freeze dryer. She cut up 4 trays full of broccoli which only left one tray for the ground beef and onion. There is still another tray worth that is in the fridge and will go in the next batch. I will have to come up with stuff to fill the other trays with to make it a full run. I did have to change the oil on the vacuum pump before starting the cycle but that only took a few minutes.
Leftovers for dinner made it easy and while we watched the 3 most recent episodes of The Great North worked on her weaving. She is making coasters right now and it is nifty as she can fit 3 wide on her loom. The gray warp looks really cool with the red and blue wefts.
We got the boys to bed the n ended up outside.
The moon was shining nice and bright and the waterproof case for my phone gave a cool look to moon. It got the quintessential star look.
The weather is nice today and I have to go get chick feed, wash clothes, yard work, make sure to practice my mandolin, this evening I have my mandolin weekly class at 5 then at 6 I have the co-op board meeting.
