Today I am sharing this curiosity! Imagining how the food get integrated into my body!! 😍
It has been a week since I started following a specific piece of advice: eat vegetables first at every meal. I've heard this tip two or three times recently. They say it protects your intestines and stabilizes your blood sugar.
I actually enjoy eating vegetables, not necessarily first, but turning it into a habit as first, isn't easy.
The rule sounds simple, but if I forget to buy vegetables, I can't follow it. Now that I am returning to school in the coming week, I will try to make this a daily practice.
One powerful reason convincing me to stick with this is the long-term impact on my brain.
Some health issues are the consequence of twenty years of not taking care of what you eat. Although I consider myself careful with food, I haven't made much effort to prioritize vegetables until now.
Yesterday, at lunchtime, I decided to do an experiment.
I closed my eyes while eating.
What a wonderful experience. Without sight, I could truly feel. I could imagine how the lettuce matched in my mouth, how the liquids integrated with the food before going to my stomach.
The curious thing was that, simultaneously, the sensation of flavor traveled to my brain while I chewed. It felt as though the essence was absorbed immediately.
This exercise gave me the opportunity to give thanks for the meal and for the opportunity to enjoy it.
It was a kind of mix between meditation and degustation!
