This week's DreemPort challenge is about FEEDING my Dreem teem and FOCUSING on them or as the DreemPort founder, Ms Dreemsteem puts it:
INVEST in the people that YOU CHOSE for your own Teem.
I'm reminded of this quote by Helen Keller that I read in a book once. She said,
Alone we can do so little, together we can do so much.
How powerful is this quote? Ms Keller, for those who don't know, was blind from a very young age. She had to lean on people to survive yet she wasn't demoralised and never used her disability as an excuse. Instead, she poured herself into the lives of others and positively impacted them. Her life story and achievements are an inspiration. If this woman lived this way, then I don't have an excuse not to pour myself into the lives of my teem because they do much more for me.
Everything we do matters over time and we can only achieve so much on our own. We need people. I need people of like minds and for this challenge, I focused on my friends — Nadia, Dudu and Ephraim. As I said in my last post:
I'm also a part of their teem and try to give as much of myself as I can. It's been a worthwhile journey with its ups and downs which makes it interesting. I couldn't ask for a better teem.
It would be awkward if a relationship or connection with another person or persons is one-sided. That is, the receiver takes and takes without giving anything back. I believe in maintaining balance on the scale—both giving and taking. Some people like to take without giving and I choose not to be one of them. Even without asking or without this challenge that requires us to write about how we invest in others, I do it because I want to and love to.
Whenever any member of my teem reaches out (any time of the day), I do my best to be available because they do the same for me. Giving my time and attention is as important to them as it's important to me. We have brainstorming periods where I listen to their ideas and make suggestions on how to better their dreems and make them a reality.
No doubt, money is a 'vehicle' that gets our dreems to the destination of manifestation. Money answers all things. Though I don't have much, I still give out of my little to aid my teem. Earlier this week, one of them needed a small change for an emergency. Without asking, I sent the money and she was surprised. What are we a teem for?
Reflecting on our activities for this week, I can say the exercise of pouring myself into my teem is emotionally uplifting and beautiful. I feel fulfilled sort of because I didn't have to be asked before reaching out to them. It's natural, it's what I've always done but doing these things consciously this week makes me appreciate them more.
I see my teem in a new light and memories of the times they'd been there for me are heartwarming. I'm happy to be a part of their story just as they are a part of mine.
Was this week fulfilling for you? Do you invest in your teem and support them?
This is my response to the Dreemer Of The Year challenge. Feel free to participate and write about your teem.
