Walking in the silver world

Extremely cold Kiruna, a silvery-white world. The world spread out before my eyes was pure white, and I remember feeling that there were so many different shades of white. My mother used to take me to museums. It reminded me of the paintings of Utrillo, who painted in Montparnasse and Montmartre in France. The pure white world, it was breathtaking. It was warm inside, and I enjoyed the extreme cold of Kiruna while drinking hot wine to keep my body warm. I felt the spiritual strength of the Swedes living in this harsh land.

極寒のキルナ、白銀の世界。目の前に広がる世界が真っ白で、白にもこれ程たくさんの色の濃淡があるんだなと感じたのを覚えています。昔、母に連れられてよく美術館に行きました。フランスのモンパルナスやモンマルトルで絵を描いた、ユトリロの絵画を思い出しました。真っ白の世界、息を飲む思いがしました。屋内は温かく、ホットワインを飲んで身体を暖めながら極寒のキルナを楽しみました。この厳しい土地に住む、スウェーデン人の精神的な強さを感じました。
