Clara está lista para acompañarte a dormir || Clara is ready to go to sleep with you

Estoy muy alegre por terminar de tejer a Clara. Quizá sea yo quien a menudo ando batallando con los cabellos de las muñecas...Creo que por eso me alejé un buen tiempo de ellas, jaja.

En la publicación anterior les comenté que Dilek (la diseñadora) está haciendo esta dinámica para que la gente no tenga excusas cuando se trate de tejer sus muñecas. Yo probé y sí fue cierto, y aquí el resultado.

I'm very happy to finish knitting Clara. Maybe I'm the one who often struggles with the dolls' hair... I think that's why I've been away from them for a while, jaja.

In previous post I told you that Dilek (the designer) is doing this dynamic so that people have no excuses when it comes to crocheting their dolls. I tried it and it was true, and here is the result.

Usar esta mantita es muy común en estos tiempos, ya sea para ir a dormir o para cargar al bebé. Antes las mamás utilizaban la Lliclla (en Quechua significa manta), la cual es una manta Andina de colores llamativos. También lo usaban como bolso, para cargar comida por lo general. Mi abuela lo usaba y traía queso, charqui, lima, cancha, yerbas, etc. Un día estaba pensando usar la Lliclla para llevar mi Laptop o algo de valor, y me preguntaba si ¿los ladrones me la robarían? o les daría roche, jaja.

These days it is very common to use this blanket, either to go to sleep or to hold the baby. In the past, mothers used to use the Lliclla (Quechua for blanket), which is a brightly colored Andean blanket. They also used it as a bag, usually to carry food. My grandmother used to use it and bring cheese, charqui, lime, cancha and herbs. One day I was thinking of using the Lliclla to carry my laptop or something of value, and I wondered if the thieves would steal it, or if I would give them a bad time, jaja.

La pijama la hice extraíble, aunque no lo recomiendo. Cuando tejo un muñeco, no se porque pero pienso en la forma de lavarlo. Entonces, hago la ropa extraíble o sino como parte del cuerpo. Ya que si lleva capas y capas de material tejido (formas de cabello y ropa no extraíble), siento que tardará demasiado en secar. En el diseño original no es extraíble y lleva más botones.

I made the pyjamas removable, although I don't recommend it. When I make a doll, I don't know why, but I think about how to wash it. So, I make the clothes removable or else as part of the body. Because if it has layers and layers of woven material (hair forms and non removable clothes), I feel it will take too long to dry. In the original design it is not removable and has more buttons.

Si se trata de abundante cabello de todas maneras el muñeco deberá llevar estructura interna adicional para que sorpote el peso de este y así fue. En cuanto a fijar los mechones de cabello a la cabeza, prefiero coserlos. Cuéntame si prefieres ¿coserlos o pegarlos?.

If the hair is abundant, the doll will have to have additional internal structure to support the weight of the hair, and so it was. As for attaching the locks of hair to the head, I prefer to sew them on. Let me know if you prefer to sew or glue them.

Tenía bastante curiosidad por ver el tamaño final y me quedó de 14 cm de altura y 18 cm con su lazo. Fue tejida con un crochet de 1.75 mm e hilo de 2mm (4/8 hebras). También mantuve el estilo de la diseñadora en el bordado de los ojos y cejas.

De este diseño me llevo mucho aprendizajes. Y una vez más resalto que no hace falta saber el idioma, mas bien sí entender la lógica de los patrones a crochet.

I was quite curious to see the final size and it was 5.5 in and 7 in with its bow. It was made with a 1.75 mm crochet and 2 mm thread (4/8 strands). I also kept the designer's style in the embroidery of the eyes and eyebrows.

I have learned a lot from this design. And once again I emphasize that it is not necessary to know the language, but rather to understand the logic of crochet patterns.
