Si hablamos de crochet esto incluye varias tećnicas y cada técnica tiene sus particularidades. Por eso, este segmento está enfocado a aprender y dar a conocer esas técnicas y puntos antes utilizados y las que están en tendencia.

If we talk about crochet, this includes several techniques and each technique has its own particularities. That's why this segment is focused on learning and introducing those techniques and stitches that have been used in the past and those that are in trend.

Una de las razones por las que dejé más de 20 años el crochet fue debido a la falta de una utilidad práctica (es mi punto de vista). Ahora en el 2023 sé que con el crochet se pueden tejer prendas únicas y personalizadas...ya me imagino una casaca en tonos de verde y con un Amaru en la espalda, ni qué decir de los zapatos con figuras de hojas, estrellas, lunas, tayta inti o de bolsos, mochilas y cintillos multicolores. Hoy comenzaremos con una técnica que desde que la ví tuve curiosidad por aprenderla (al estilo autodidacta claro, jaja). ¡Veamos como va esto!.

One of the reasons why I gave up crochet more than 20 years ago was because of the lack of practical use (that's my point of view). Now in 2023 I know that with crochet you can knit unique and personalized garments... I can already imagine a jacket in shades of green and with an Amaru on the back, not to mention shoes with figures of leaves, stars, moons, tayta inti or bags, backpacks and multicoloured headbands. Today we will start with a technique that I have been curious to learn since I saw it (self-taught style of course, jaja), let's see how it goes!

Stamp crochet

Si bien estoy aprendiendo a manejar el crochet (en general), hay ciertas técnicas el cual les veo potencial y esta es una de ellas. La principal diferencia de esta técnica es su limpio acabado, ya que sus figuras quedan como estampadas. Además, queda una pieza algo gruesa dándole firmeza.

Although I'm just learning how to crochet (in general), there are certain techniques which I see potential in and this is one of them. The main difference of this technique is its clean finish, as its figures are like stamped. Besides, it is a somewhat thick piece, giving it firmness.

Decicí poner manos a la obra y estas semanas estoy tejiendo una funda (similar al de las laptops) con diseños de plumas. Utilicé puntos bajos para la base. Inicié el diseño de las plumas por los laterales. Al inicio me quedaron algo largas a mi parecer, por lo que volví a tejerlas.

I decided to get to work and these weeks I'm crocheting a cover (similar to the one for laptops) with feather designs. I made the base with single crochet. I started the design of the feathers on the sides. At the beginning they were a bit long in my opinion, so I crocheted it again.

Aquí las plumas están de un tamaño notorio. Cierto, previo a iniciar este diseño trabajé en un borrador donde plasmo los colores y los tamaños. Aunque, eso es un boceto y algo distinto a la realidad (tejer y destejer)...De seguro mejoraré con la praćtica, jaja.

Here the feathers are of a noticeable size. True, before starting this design I worked on a rough draft where I capture the colours and sizes. Although, that's a sketch and something different from reality (crocheting and uncrocheting)... I'm sure I'll get better with practice

Esta es la parte 1 de la funda. Estos días continuaré con la parte del medio, es decir el diseño de las plumas enteras. Planeo utilizar otra gama de colores para ver como queda.

This is part 1 of the cover. These days I will continue with the middle part, i.e. the design of the whole feathers. I plan to use another range of colors to see how it looks.
