Hello everybody,
Before we transferred to our new abode, I bought yarns secrectly because hubby did'nt know about it that's for my yarnbombing project. Then, last week tuesday after my house chores I relaxed by crocheting motifs for the tree. Hubby noticed my new yarns and asked me, "another yarns? another additional pile or stocks? You always start a project then dumped! When we transferred our things mostly were all your craft projects! Then, one thing I noticed over the years you always make for someone or for yourself. Me, who supported your addiction, nothing, you did not make any for me."
Ooops, I just answered back, "I want to relaxed, to relieved from house stressed." But, inside me, yeah, he was right, I made him a hat, but that was a long long time ago. That night, I started his rug. He needed a rug for his swollen feet, timely for Father's Day.
I used hand dyed 8 ply cotton which was given to me 6 yrs ago. I got this when we went home in Olongapo City just for five days last year. I double pulled to make a sturdy thick rug, using 4.5 mm hook.
Started with Chain 3 (ch), 1 extended double crochet(26x) to form a twin post foundation line as Row 1.
On the 26th which was the last stitch to achieved the length of 21 inches, then on the 27th, single crochet (sc) in the 26, ch 2, double crochet (dc) in same space(sp), sc into the next or 25th twin stitch, repeat again until the 1st twin edc made.
I just repeat from row 2 back and forth, right side turning to the back side until the ball runs out. At the moment, the rug is 13 inches in length. A repetitive stitch, some call this C2C stitch.
This afternoon, with blue yarn I form hubby's name but not his real name, I call him Addy short for Daddy but I make ADY only to save space.
Tomorrow I will hand sew the name, I still have time to finish the rug in time for Father's Day on June 21, so, that I can continue my motif making which I think I need to buy additional yarns in dark colorway. It was good it rained last wednesday I have observed the rain water poured on the tree trunk. I must use dark color yarns.
This is just what I can share to you for today.
