Feliz Lunes de agujas y bendecido inicio de semana son mis deseos para todos los amigos de Hive, en espacial para mis compañeros de NeedleWorkModay.

Hoy me encuentro muy emocionada de mostrarles lo que estuve tejiendo durante el fin de semana, ya que se trata de mis flores favoritas: Los girasoles.

Today I'm very excited to show you what I've been knitting over the weekend, since it's about my favorite flowers: sunflowers.

Los girasoles siempre han sido mi fascinación; me encanta ver los girasoles en cada una de sus etapas, desde que apenas están abriendo hasta que ya tienen sus pétalos marchitos, creo que son bellos de todas las formas posibles. Es por ello que tejer girasoles siempre será divertido y agradable para mí. Desde que soy crochetera he tejido muchos proyectos en los que el protagonista principal ha sido el girasol. He tejido desde agarra ollas, posa vasos, manteles, hasta accesorios para el cabello. Sin embargo, esta es la primera vez que elaboro girasoles a crochet para ser usados como llaveros.

Sunflowers have always been a fascination of mine; I love to see sunflowers in every stage, from when they are just opening to when they already have their petals withered, I think they are beautiful in every possible way. That is why knitting sunflowers will always be fun and enjoyable for me. Since I have been crocheting I have knitted many projects in which the main protagonist has been the sunflower. I have knitted everything from pot holders, cup holders, tablecloths, to hair accessories. However, this is the first time I have crocheted sunflowers to be used as key chains.

Este proyecto surgió debido a un pedido que me hizo una de mis hermanas, luego de ver el girasol alfiletero que tejí para mi mamá la semana pasada. A ella le gustó tanto el girasol, que me pidió que le tejiera varios llaveros con este mismo motivo para obsequiarlo a las maestras de mis sobrinos en vista de que ya está proximo a culminar el año escolar. Por supuesto que yo acepté encantada, ya que siempre será un placer tejer mi flor favorita. Felizmente tenía a la dispocisión los materiales necesarios, así que me puse manos a la obra.

This project arose due to a request from one of my sisters, after seeing the pincushion sunflower I knitted for my mom last week. She liked the sunflower so much that she asked me to knit several key chains with the same motif to give as gifts to my nephews' teachers, since the school year is about to end. Of course I was delighted to accept, since it will always be a pleasure to knit my favorite flower. Fortunately, I had the necessary materials at my disposal, so I got down to work.

Todos los girasoles los tejí el domingo por la tarde mientras disfrutaba de una lluviosa tarde de café y tertulia con mi madre y mis hermanas. Estuve tan entretenida que no tome ninguna foto del paso a paso, pero les puedo decir que es el mismo procedimiento que seguí al tejer el Alfiletero. Una vez estuve en mi casa me dispuse a colocarle los aros para llaveros y darle los toques finales.

I knitted all the sunflowers on Sunday afternoon while I was enjoying a rainy afternoon of coffee and socializing with my mother and sisters. I was so entertained that I did not take any photos of the step by step, but I can tell you that it is the same procedure that I followed when weaving the Pincushion. Once I was in my house I got ready to place the rings for key rings and give it the final touches.

Me está gustando mucho hacer este tipo de flores que llevan un poco de relleno para darle más forma, espero seguir haciendo otros tipos de flores muy pronto y así poder compartirlas con ustedes.
