I find that when I go too long without doing a sewing project, it gives me a kind of withdrawal that can only subside after completing a beautiful project. These last few days I've had a pretty tight schedule, and I'm not the type of person who can sew a little every day: when I start something I want to finish it right away so my sewing sessions can't last less than 3 hours. Luckily, this Friday I was able to accommodate all my commitments so that I could have the afternoon free and satisfy my desire by making the new lingerie set that you can see here ❣️.
Creo que cuando paso demasiado tiempo sin hacer algún proyecto de costura se me genera una especie de abstinencia que solo puede calmarse después de completar un proyecto hermoso. Estos últimos días he tenido una agenda bastante ajustada, y no soy del tipo de persona que pueda coser un poco cada día: cuando empiezo algo lo quiero terminar en el momento así que mis sesiones de costura no pueden durar menos de 3 horas. Por suerte, este viernes pude acomodar todos mis compromisos para que me quede la tarde libre y satisfacer mi deseo confeccionando el nuevo conjunto de lencería que pueden ver aquí ❣️.
Aside from the weather, one of the main reasons I haven't been sewing lately was because I was running out of supplies, but after a big purchase I was able to stock up again. I wanted to wear some new elastics and see how they behave in sewing, since every time the supplier changes, so does the quality of the materials. Fortunately, all was well with these ❣️.
Además del tiempo, uno de los principales motivos por los que no cosía nada ultimamente era porque me faltaban bastantes insumos, pero después de una gran compra pude abastecerme nuevamente. Tenía ganas de estrenar algunos elásticos nuevos y ver como se comportan en la costura, ya que cada vez que el proveedor cambia también lo hace la calidad de los materiales. Afortunadamente, todo estuvo bien con estos ❣️.
As the main objective was to test the materials and sew a little just to pass the time, I chose two types of garments that I have already made on previous occasions, of which I know the size and I know that the fit is perfect. I didn't use my new lace because I wanted to take advantage of the last piece of black fabric that I bought literally two years ago. I only had about 30 cm of this lace, so I combined it with black cotton to make it a sensual garment but also for daily use 😃.
Como el objetivo principal era testear los materiales y coser un poco solo para pasar el rato, elegí dos tipos de prendas que ya hice en ocasiones anteriores, de las que conozco el talle y sé que el ajuste es perfecto. No usé mis puntillas nuevas porque quería aprovechar el último retazo de tela negra que me compré literalmente hace dos años. Solo tenía unos 30 cm de este encaje, así que lo combiné con algodón negro para que quede una prenda sensual pero también para uso diario 😃.
Making the bodice of the set is what takes the most time: I will have taken about three hours between cutting and sewing, despite the fact that I have mastered all the techniques almost perfectly. But investing all the time necessary for the garment to come out well is what will give a beautiful result, so you have to be patient. In particular, this design only consists of 4 pieces and three types of elastic are needed to elasticize it: a smooth one for the neckline, one with waves for the armhole and a thick one for the bust contour. The pieces are prepared separately and then joined in the middle ❣️.
Hacer el corpiño del conjunto es lo que más tiempo lleva: habré tardado unas tres horas entre corte y confección a pesar de que ya domino todas las técnicas casi a la perfección. Pero invertir todo el tiempo necesario para que la prenda salga bien es lo que dará un resultado hermoso así que hay que tener paciencia. En particular, este diseño solo se compone de 4 piezas y para elastizarlas se necesitan tres tipos de elástico: uno liso para el escote, uno con ondas para la sisa y uno grueso para el contorno del busto. Se preparan las piezas por separado y luego se unen en el medio ❣️.
Once this part is complete, it's time to take care of the hooks in the back and the straps. Here you have to be careful because these parts are metallic and can break the needle. I like to use heart-shaped sliders, they are my favorite and they are in almost all my projects (and it has nothing to do with the fact that I have hundreds of them) 😅.
Una vez completa esta parte, es momento de ocuparse de los ganchos de la espalda y de los breteles. Aquí hay que tener cuidado porque estas piezas son metálicas y pueden romper la aguja. Me gusta usar correderas con forma de corazón, son mis preferidas y están en casi todos mis proyectos (y no tiene nada que ver el hecho de que tengo cientas de ellas) 😅.
And finally this is how the top looks. I love this design because it has some fabric but also see-through, so it still leaves some room for the imagination 😂. What do you think?

That day I planned to leave the making of the panties for the next day, but I couldn't. I said well, I'm halfway there, a little more and I'm done. The sewing of the bottom part is always a little shorter because you only have to join and elasticize, no hooks and those small seams that take longer than long seams. What took me the most time with this one was cutting the fabric, since when you make a garment with many cuts you have to be very careful not to put the fabric inside out 😃.
Ese día planeaba dejar la confección de la bombacha para el día siguiente, pero no pude. Dije bueno, ya estoy a mitad de camino, un poco más y termino. La confección de la parte de abajo siempre es un poco más corta porque solo hay que unir y elastizar, nada de poner ganchos y esas pequeñas costuras que demoran más que las costuras largas. Lo que me tomó más tiempo con esta fue cortar la tela, ya que cuando haces una prenda con muchos recortes tenes que estar bien atenta para no poner la tela al revés 😃.
Even though I haven't made a garment like this for several months, this is like riding a bike and you immediately remember everything. Probably the most "tricky" part is attaching the crotch gusset to the front and back parts, but nothing a little internet tutorial can't solve 😅.
A pesar de que hace varios meses que no hacía una prenda de estas, esto es como andar en bicicleta e inmediatamente recuerdas todo. Probablemente la parte más "complicada" es unir el refuerzo de la entrepierna con las partes del frente y de la espalda, pero nada que un pequeño tutorial de internet no pueda resolver 😅.
Finally, all that remains is to sew the elastic to the edges of the legs and then close the sides of the waistband. As this garment has some lace on the sides, the elastic does not cover the entire hip contour, but the same elasticity of the fabric is enough to fit the body ❣️.
Finalmente, todo lo que resta es coser el elástico en los bordes de las piernas y luego cerrar los costados de la cintura. Como esta prenda tiene algo de puntilla en los costados, el elástico no llega a cubir todo el contorno de la cadera, pero la misma elasticidad de la tela es suficiente para ajustarse en el cuerpo ❣️.
And ta-ran! This is how this panty looks. With very little fabric by the way, but in my opinion the most comfortable and sensual style for you know what :p. What style do you prefer? 😃

I started this project around 6 PM and finished it around 1 AM, and even though I got a bit distracted in the middle (as usual), I was able to complete it and get it ready to go. Every time I finish a project and when I try it on it looks good on me, I feel like I have a double reward: one for having done it myself and another because my self-esteem always goes up a little. Black will always be one of the best colors, but now I can't wait to use the rest of the lace trims I bought. There are still many projects ahead! 😃
Este proyecto lo empecé alrededor de las 6 PM y lo terminé como a las 1 AM, y si bien en el medio me distraje un poco (como siempre), pude completarlo y dejarlo listo para usar. Cada vez que termino un proyecto y al probarmelo me queda bien, siento que tengo doble recompensa: una por haberlo hecho yo misma y otro porque mi autoestima siempre sube un poco. El negro siempre será uno de los mejores colores, pero ahora estoy ansiosa por usar el resto de las puntillas que compré. ¡Aún hay muchos proyectos por delante! 😃
