Happy Needle Work Monday to all of you, Needle Work Monday friends. It's unbelievable but half of January has already passed. Generally this month tends to be a bit long but this year is passing very quickly. I hope you had a great weekend and that you were able to make the most of it. For our Monday today, I want to share with you a sewing project that I did a few weeks ago, prepared in advance because I knew I would be away these days (traveler but responsible with work) ❣️.
Feliz lunes de agujas para todos ustedes, amigos de Needle Work Monday. Es increíble pero ya pasó la mitad del mes de Enero. Generalmente este mes suele ser un poco largo pero este año se está pasando muy rápido. Espero que hayan tenido un gran fin de semana y que hayan podido aprovecharlo al máximo. Para nuestro lunes de hoy, quiero compartir con ustedes un proyecto de costura que hice hace algunas semanas, preparado con anticipación porque sabía que iba a estar ausente estos días (viajera pero responsable con el trabajo) ❣️.
In this part of the world we are going through the summer holidays, so it is time to take advantage of those destinations where there is some water to cool off. For this reason, I chose as my first trip of the year a short walk to the town of Capilla del Monte in the province of Córboda, Argentina. This place has mountains and a river, as well as a small center to enjoy the night life. My travel companion this time was my dad: we spent some beautiful days walking here and there, walking, climbing and even biking. Once again, all of this was made possible by my work at Hive and I will always be grateful for living this opportunity ❤️.
En esta parte del mundo estamos transitando las vacaciones de verano, por lo que es momento de aprovechar aquellos destinos en los que haya un poco de agua para refrescarse. Para eso elegí como primer viaje del año un pequeño paseo hasta el pueblo de Capilla del Monte en la provincia de Córboda, Argentina. Este lugar tiene montañas y río, además de un pequeño centro para disfrutar la vida nocturna. Mi compañero de viaje esta vez fue mi papá: pasamos unos días hermosos andando de aquí para allá, caminando, escalando e incluso andando en bicicleta. Una vez más, todo esto fue posible por a mi trabajo en Hive y siempre voy a estar agradecida por estar viviendo esta oportunidad ❤️.
Now that I'm home (not for long), it's time to catch up. For our Monday today I had prepared a sewing project made with the black and silver fabric that I bought more than a year ago. It's incredible how much this fabric yielded: I had bought about eight meters (exaggerating as always), so I still have a lot left. I'm not complaining so much because it's a very nice fabric and the final results are always very good ❤️.
Ahora que estoy en casa (no por mucho), es momento de ponerse al día. Para nuestro lunes de hoy había dejado preparado un proyecto de costura hecho con la tela negra y plateada que compré hace más de un año. Es increíble todo lo que rindió esta tela: había comprado como ocho metros (exagarando como siempre), así que aún me queda bastante. No me quejo tanto porque es una tela muy linda y los resultados finales siempre son muy buenos ❤️.
Sewing always relaxes me a lot and it's one of the things I miss the most when I'm not at home. I also think it's one of the best skills I've learned during the pandemic. Ever since I learned how to make my own lingerie, I have never had torn or ugly underwear ever again 😂.
Coser siempre me relaja bastante y es una de las cosas que más extraño cuando no estoy en mi casa. También pienso que es una de las mejores habilidades que aprendí durante la pandemia. Desde que aprendí a hacer mi propia lencería, nunca más tuve ropa interior rota o fea 😂.
Since I wanted to get this project ready to share today, without having to get home and sew in a hurry, I did this very calmly while listening to music. I already know the procedure for assembling panties almost by heart, I master all the techniques well and generally the sizes and molds fit me well... however I don't want to encourage myself to make this a business even though many encourage me to do so...
Como quería dejar este proyecto preparado para compartir hoy, sin tener que llegar a casa y coser a las apuradas, hice esto con mucha calma mientras escuchaba música. El procedimiento para ensamblar una bombacha ya lo sé casi de memoria, domino todas las técnicas bien y generalmente los talles y moldes me quedan bien... sin embargo no quiero animarme a hacer de esto un negocio aunque muchos me alienten a que lo haga...
That's because I like to do a different project each time and not fall into the routine of doing things in series. I prefer to give my works to the girls I love and that's it, that's enough satisfaction for me. One of the things I want to get into for me and for them is making swimwear – I had thought about this last summer, but it's summer again and I didn't buy any of the necessary fabrics. I still have more than 2 months of heat left, so I still have time to do it... I have to think about it because the fabrics are expensive and I'm not sure if my machine is going to feel like sewing lycra 🤣.
Eso es porque me gusta hacer un proyecto diferente cada vez y no caer en la rutina de hacer cosas en serie. Prefiero regalar mis trabajos a las chicas que quiero y listo, eso es suficiente satisfacción para mí. Una de las cosas en las que quiero incursionar para mí y para ellas es en la confección de trajes de baño: había pensado en esto el verano pasado, pero otra vez es verano y no compré ninguna de las telas necesarias. Aún me quedan más de 2 meses de calor, así que aún tengo tiempo para hacerlo... Tengo que pensarlo bien porque las telas son caras y no estoy segura de si mi máquina va a tener ganas de coser lycra 🤣.
Step by step and thinking a little about the trip, a little about sewing, a little about making other projects, I was finally able to finish this one. It was quite neat, perhaps because I was doing it calmly. And once again, the silver and black fabric gave me another beautiful and delicate project. Hope you liked ❤️.
Paso a paso y pensando un poco en el viaje, un poco en la costura, un poco en la confección de otros proyectos, al fin pude terminar este. Me quedó bastante prolijo, quizás porque lo estaba haciendo tranquila. Y una vez más, la tela plateada y negra me brindó otro proyecto hermoso y delicado- Espero que te haya gustado ❤️.
