La reacción de amigos, familiares y vecinos, fue más sanadora que las medidas que se tomaron para que pudiera eliminar el químico que me había producido la terrible reacción.

Los buenos somos más
Si algo puedo testificar -y siempre lo digo- es que el ser humano tiene, en forma innata la capacidad de ser solidario, empático y de poderse sacrificar por otros. De hecho, el sacrificio que una mujer hace para traer a un niño al mundo y luego dedicarse a su cuidado hasta que éste puede valerse por sí mismo, es increíble; y solo comparable al del padre que sacrifica su tiempo y su vida para trabajar, proveer y cuidarlo.
La bondad es un rasgo que es innato y que podemos encontrar en más personas en la actualidad; solo hay que notarlo, porque muchos actos pasan desapercibidos.
La reacción de mis vecinos ante una intoxicación como la que sufrí y que me ha dejado un una condición llamada liquen plano como consecuencia, es un ejemplo de lo que es la bondad y la solidaridad de la gente y de una comunidad.

Javier y Alexander. Visitas al necesitado
En realidad somos un grupo bastante numeroso de personas que pertenecemos a las iglesias y otras organizaciones de la zona, que nos dedicamos a visitar a personas que lo necesitan, y luego hacer las gestiones correspondientes para conseguir ayudas; ya sean de alimentos, de medicamentos y a veces hasta de material de construcción para sus viviendas en mal estado.
Javier y Alexander, miembros de la Iglesia SUD, son los que están más activos con esto; ya que muchos de nosotros estamos casi siempre muy ocupados, aunque acompañamos cada vez que podemos; sin embargo, ellos no pierden la oportunidad para visitar familias con necesidades y al solitario.
Por ejemplo, en estas fotografías los podemos ver visitando el hogar de la Señora Puche; una madre de muy bajos recursos, que tiene varios hijos y nietos ya. Están en muy malas condiciones económicas y cuya casa prácticamente está sin techo. Esto con la finalidad de buscar con la iglesia y otras organizaciones, como resolver.
Una acción que es prácticamente semanal; y que no deja de enorgullecerme.

Juan Ramón y su lucha contra el maltrato animal
A Juan Ramón lo considero como un hermano; y su corazón es gigantesco, a pesar de que ya tiene una operación de corazón abierto.
Tiene una página en Facebook donde denuncia maltratos animales; pero también anuncia animalitos de la calle rescatados que necesitan adopción; e incluso, apoya a hogares de mascotas rescatadas para localizarles dueños.
Lo que es más; su perrita amada Nut; fue rescatada de la calle; tiene 7 años con él y es su mayor tesoro.
Juan ha llevado a que tengan dueños unos cuántos animalitos salvados de la calle y la intemperie; y dentro de sus luchas están contra la basura, maltrato animal y contra la violencia doméstica y la de género.

María López y las mujeres de su barrio
Está iniciativa de María a mí me llena de mucha satisfacción.
Ella, los días de la madre, los días de la mujer e incluso los días del niño; trata de reunir a la gente de muy bajos recursos de su comunidad; y apoyada por su iglesia en la sede que le prestan, hace reuniones donde se lleva comida, regalos, juguetes, chucherías; y pasan una tarde festejando la ocasión.
Como una manera de tomar en cuenta a tantos que se han quedado aquí, en el país, prácticamente solos o con muy pocos familiares; y como una forma de siempre tomarlos en cuenta y de que ellos sepan que sí forman parte de una comunidad.

Por último, me gustaría comentarles sobre mi amigo Héctor; -amiguito, como nos decimos- que tuvo que emigrar hace 5 años al Ecuador para poder ayudar a su familia, a su esposa y a sus hijos que se quedaron aquí en Venezuela.
Él sabe cuántas dificultades se pasan al principio, al emigrar a un país diferente; él comprende la situación de los que emigran.
Por eso, cuando le es posible, reparte alimentos a pobres de allá y a venezolanos, que piden en los semáforos de la ciudad. Comida que él mismo prepara en la medida de sus posibilidades.
Es una situación real; y él mismo me la ha constatado. Y miren que ya llevo mucho tiempo comunicándome con él, casi a diario a través de las mensajerías; y aún hoy, muchos venezolanos que llegan, cada semana ese país, viven los primeros días sin tener a veces ni qué comer ni dónde trabajar o dormir.
Hay ángeles en la tierra, verdaderamente
Con todas las acciones que en mi profesión se pueden hacer por el ser humano, uno no le llega a la altura de gente que se sacrifica por otros de forma desinteresada y amorosa; lo certifico.
Ellos forman parte de mi vida, de eso me siento agradecido y bendecido. Y como cita @Charjaim en su escrito, la frase, los buenos somos más, sí adquiere mucha relevancia hoy, sobre todo en los tiempos difíciles, estos tiempos de pandemia, guerra y de migración forzada.
Si hacemos un poquito de esfuerzo y nos fijamos en la gente que vive a nuestro alrededor, podemos visualizar muchas más personas parecidas a estos seres tan hermosos que he nombrado, porque definitivamente sí, los buenos somos más.

There are more of us who are good
If there is one thing I can testify - and I always say it - it is that human beings have an innate capacity for solidarity, empathy and the ability to sacrifice for others. In fact, the sacrifice a woman makes to bring a child into the world and then to care for it until it can fend for itself is incredible, and only comparable to that of a father who sacrifices his time and his life to work, provide and care for it.
Kindness is a trait that is innate and can be found in more people today; it just needs to be noticed, because many acts go unnoticed.
The reaction of my neighbours to a poisoning like the one I suffered and which has left me with a condition called lichen planus as a consequence, is an example of what kindness is in people and in a community.

We are actually quite a large group of people who belong to the churches and other organisations in the area, who dedicate ourselves to visiting people in need, and then make the corresponding arrangements to get help, whether it be food, medicine or sometimes even building materials for their homes in poor condition.
Javier and Alexander, members of the LDS Church, are the ones who are most active with this, as many of us are almost always very busy, although we accompany them whenever we can; however, they do not miss the opportunity to visit families in need and to visit them alone.
For example, in these photographs we can see them visiting the home of Señora Puche; a very poor mother, who has several children and grandchildren already. They are in very bad economic conditions and her house is practically roofless. This is with the aim of seeking with the church and other organisations, how to solve the problem.
An action that is practically weekly; and that does not cease to make me proud.

Juan Ramón and his fight against animal abuse
I consider Juan Ramón as a brother; and his heart is gigantic, despite the fact that he already has an open heart operation.
He has a Facebook page where he denounces animal abuse; but he also announces rescued street animals in need of adoption; and he even supports the homes of rescued pets to find owners for them.
What's more, his beloved dog Nut was rescued from the street; she has been with him for 7 years and is his greatest treasure.
Juan has led to a number of animals saved from the street and the outdoors being found owners; and among his struggles are against litter, animal abuse and domestic and gender-based violence.

This initiative of Maria's fills me with great satisfaction.
On Mother's Day, Women's Day and even on Children's Day, she tries to bring together people of very limited means in her community; and with the support of her church in the premises they lend her, she holds meetings where she brings food, gifts, toys, sweets; and they spend an afternoon celebrating the occasion.
As a way of taking into account so many who have remained here in the country, practically alone or with very few family members; and as a way of always taking them into account and letting them know that they do form part of a community.

Lastly, I would like to tell you about my friend Héctor - a little friend, as we call ourselves - who had to emigrate five years ago to Ecuador to be able to help his family, his wife and children who stayed here in Venezuela.
He knows how difficult it is at first when emigrating to a different country; he understands the situation of those who emigrate.
That is why, whenever possible, he distributes food to the poor there and to Venezuelans who beg at traffic lights in the city. Food that he prepares himself as much as he can.
It is a real situation; and he himself has confirmed it to me. And look, I have been communicating with him for a long time now, almost daily through messenger services; and even today, many Venezuelans who arrive in that country every week, spend the first few days there, sometimes without even having anything to eat or anywhere to work or sleep.
There are angels on earth, truly
With all the actions that can be done for human beings in my profession, one does not reach the level of people who sacrifice themselves for others in a selfless and loving way; I certify it.
They are part of my life, for that I feel grateful and blessed. And as @Charjaim quotes in his writing, the phrase, the good ones are more, does take on a lot of relevance today, especially in difficult times, these times of pandemic, war and forced migration.
If we make a little effort and look at the people who live around us, we can visualise many more people similar to these beautiful beings I have named, because yes, there are definitely more of us good people.
This is my tribute to them.
