It is incredible how the cherry trees bloom together this time of year, as if on a clock. There are so many sights around the city. These photos show less than one percent of the wonderful spectacle that these blossoms create. The petals fall off easily in the breeze and the rain, so they only last a couple of weeks. The Japanese call this mono no aware (物の哀れ), which roughly translates to the beauty (and pathos) of impermanence.
