What I wrote last time this was the game rule is...
I don't really have much to add to this since not much has changed in this regard since the last time this rule was highlighted.
I had this rule pop up in one of my previous brawl games on my alt account for the gold fray which was played against a player who seems to just play the game trying to extract value as a gold reward summoner and some very cheap gold cards were played getting nowhere near what was needed to be competitive against a 'real player'. This value-extracting mindset remains an issue for the entire splinterlands ecosystem and the fact that Summoners were included in the soulbound reward cards made this way worse.
The other 2 rules for this game were that all monsters got blast and sneak.
I also opted to play a soulbound summoner mostly so I was able to play the Dragon Djinn Chwala. Looking at it afterward, I better should have played my Gold Daria Dragonscale as I didn't play any Gladius cards. I combined it with the Earth Splinter putting the high-health Nectar Queen as the main tank followed by the Furious Chicken which was there to take some damage. The Goblin Mech remains one of the strong classic cards thanks to the hight damage and Piercing ability. The Arkemis The Bear also is a strong card as it gives all other monsters +2 Armor and the Venari Marksrat I put in last position assuming it would give the Djinn Chwala extra stats.
With my opponents not having the cards it turned out an easy turn 1 win and not really a fun game to play even though it helps for the earnings to have matches like this.
