The new Legendary AirDrop card, Immolation is a Monster from the Fire Splinter. As with priori AirDrops, it is 11 mana in order to be used which is interesting as many of the new set are larger mana cards or giants. It is interesting because it is has great defensive abilities like shield in addition to offensive abilities like Blast. It makes for an interesting back line for the Fire Splinter which is already a good way to go in battles. It will sure help Fire one Yodin goes out of Modern rotation and loses the powerful blast ability.
My 2,800 packs no longer gets me enough for a maxed version but had a little luck this time around. I was able to get 10 BCX which is one short of a maxed version for my competitive set. I know how markets react quickly after AirDrops in pricing so watched it for a couple of hours before jumping in to buy the one I needed. The high price was offset by the increase in DEC value being seen. For this set, I will be good with many of the AirDrops given the amount I purchased. I will not need to go out into the market for BCX to max out my playable copy as much as the past AirDrops.
The Riftwatchers AirDrops have now started so exciting for the community. It may be a while to see the next one but incredible to see the value being built for all the players in the ecosystem. My Collection has continued to bloom despite the markets in the past months. I cannot avoid getting deeper into this and while I am already well past my budget of packs, I am sure there will continue to be reasons to add for the chance for more AirDrops even as they slow.
