Introduction
Hi! It's me , playing Splinterlands everyday!
It was already been around 2 years since I started as a Splinterlands player so I can say that I am quite knowledgeable about the game. In fact, all of the accounts that I am playing have been consistently placing on the leaderboards with on 21st,
on 29th and
on 38th for season 125, but just like every newbies out there, I do not know anything about the game when I started. So if you are just new about the game, I could give you some tips that might help you to rise from Zero to Hero and for this post, I'm gonna teach the importance of joining guilds for newbies.

What is a Guild?
A Guild is a group of players who have joined forces to participate in specialized battles called Brawls. Unlike ranked battles where we battle as an individual, players are battling under the same name and the overall result of the individual players in brawls will determine the prize won by the guild for the specific tier that they belong.
Brawls can only be played for every brawl cycle with 5 days duration and to participate, one needs to enter a fray or be assigned by members with brawls assignment privilege. Each frays comes with different playable sets within them, determined by the tier of the guild and the higher the tier, the more frays can be played by its members.
How to Join a Guild?
In order to join a guild, click on the guild Icon in the Splinterlands Menu which will show you the list of the guilds then look for guilds that is not yet full and send them a join request. Some guilds only increase its members through invite only where they will send you the request instead and they might send you an invite if they saw you playing decently on ranked battles. There was also a #guild-recruitment page on Splinterlands discord to look for potential guilds.
Benefits Of Joining a Guild
- SPS Brawl Rewards
By participating in guild brawls, players would be able to earn additional SPS which would increase according to the tier bracket the guild is under. The share that each guild gets is proportional to the number of points they received for that particular brawl and the max amount of SPS that each participating guild member gets is determined by dividing the SPS awarded to the guild by the number of frays within that tier. This means that regardless of the fray you play, as long as you fill all the battles for your fray, you will get the same amount of SPS on brawls so even a beginner, playing a novice fray can earn the same SPS to those that fill higher frays. To check the potential SPS you can earn, you can check by clicking on the brawl rewards.
- Earn Merits to Purchase Gladiator Packs
Merits are non- transferable in-game currency that can be earned through reward chest and by participating on brawls and can be used to buy Gladiator packs on the Guild store but to be able to buy them, you need to be a member of a guild.
Gladiator cards were soul- bound which means that it cannot be sold or rented and the only way to have them is to buy them on the guild store. They have the Bloodlust ability which increases all their stats when they defeat a monster and can be use not only on brawls but also on ranked battles by using Chaos Legion Soul- bound summoners or through the Are You Entertained ruleset so it is necessary in order for beginners to be more competitive in ranked battles.
- Guild Bonus Modifier for more SPS and Rshares on Ranked Battles
Joining a guild does not only allows you to earn SPS and merits through brawls, the benefits that it provides also extends to your ranked battles. By joining a guild with a leveled up Lodge, each members can have up to 20% boost on their guild bonus modifiers that will increase the amount of SPS and Rshares that you can earn each time you win a ranked battle.
As you can see, I have 15% guild bonus modifier and this also reflects on my reward points which makes joining the guild very valuable specially on Modern format where we do not get bonus modifiers from alpha and beta cards.
- Improve Gameplay Strategies and Promote Team Spirit
Aside from its earning and asset benefits, there are also other benefits you can gain by joining a guild such as it helps to improve your gameplay with barely no consequences since it does not consume energy nor it does not need you to have any SPS stake in your account. As long as you have the required cards to the fray that you are assigned, you can play along with what strategies you can think of that you have not yet tried on ranked battles, specially those that includes the use of Gladiator cards. So for beginners, it is one of the best place to improve their strategies.
At the same time, it also helps to promote team spirit specially if the guild strive to perform of the top of the brawls by sharing their strategies with each members. Some guilds may even offer incentives to their members like the New Bot Order which I am a member of where they give DEC for each members to rent the cards they needed and another DEC if they their Frays without losing. I was also delegated with a Runi and Arkemis the Bear from our guild leader and some guilds even give packs and cards based on their performance.

And with this, I hope that I have emphasized it enough how important it is for beginners to enter a guild. Many of them may ask for contributions to upgrade the guild but the benefits far outnumbers the cost you have and if you are a beginner that is renting your cards, this might be another potential source of income to cover for your expenses.
Thank you and see you on my next post.
