Hello, Hive artists! I'm back and I bring you a complete tutorial of how I made the illustration of a hummingbird. I hope you like it very much, I leave you with the step by step below:

PROCESO // PROCESS
Lo primero que haremos será trazar una linea horizontal y otra vertical para formar una cruz (+).
After that, we draw two ovals: a small one (for the head) and a big one (for the body) and after that, we will draw a cross in the center of both of them. The small oval will be drawn horizontally and the large one vertically, but tilted a little to the left.
After having the base of the body, we are going to add lines that will serve as a guide for the beak, wings and tail. For the beak, we will only draw a horizontal line that will come out of the small oval; for the wings, two parallel lines at the top of the large oval and for the tail the figure that I will show below, it should look like this:
Now that we have the base, it's time to join everything with curved lines. We join the two circles, shape the wings, thicken the beak and add details to the tail.
We erase the guide lines and add the missing details: the eye, the feathers on the wings and the tail feathers. You can leave the drawing as it is in black and white or add some shading.
In my case, I decided to give it color and for this I used watercolors in tubes. For the body, I applied a soft layer of olive green, for the tail, a very saturated black (to achieve this you must dilute the watercolor in little water) and for the wings, variations of grays.
To give color to the hummingbird I used a reference image I found on google. I gave him several layers of colors and combined the dark blue with the grass green.
The last details on the body and wings, I gave them with colored pencils: for the body, blue, green and gold pencil, because the body of the hummingbird has golden touches; for the wings I used the silver color and I finished outlining everything with a black fine tip Sharpie.
