While we are waiting for the results of Season 5 Consolation Cup Semifinals, let's have a look how are doing the candidates for next season. The pre-qualifiers have been in play since Friday, Jan 21 and end today (Monday, Jan, 24). Due to the delay in getting reports, I have now scores for the two first days. This means that for many players today's update is the last bell - they have only today to improve their scores.
Rules
Short recap of Rules:
- players "walk alone"
- 3 best scores from the 4 days of pre-qualifiers are summed up
- bonuses for
Leagues and #poprzeczka competition have been applied
- top 8 will play in Round 1 of Champions League qualifiers (this coming Friday and Sunday); they will be paired against seeded players (based on #MAcFiT Ranking)
- next 16 will compete in Round 1 of Consolation Cup qualifiers
Standings after two days of pre-qualifiers
Bonuses already applied
players in red won't be classified unless they post at least one report
Who's In, who's Out
is already In, as he had gotten a Wild Card based on his @Poliac League One position.
and
have amassed so high scores that with 99% certainty I can say they have qualified to Champions League eliminations.
Next there's a pack of a dozen or so players who will compete for the remaining 6 slots.
and
are very close. Although I'd advise taking things into their own hands (feet!) so they don't have to look back.
Then it get's really tight -
and
are all within 7 points. There will be a fierce battle here and I think only the last day will show who's done it.
There's a group of players who a bit behind, but if they do decent step counts in the two remaining days, they still have chances to get into Champions League. These are:
and
The remaining players highlighted in yellow - ,
and
have almost secured their place in Consolation Cup.
The remaining players (red background) have not posted a single report yet. They need at least one to be classified (bonus doesn't count for players who are inactive and don't post a single report). So:
"What if"
The following is a "what if" analysis, to explain how the qualification process works.
If the pre-qualifiers ended after two days, this is how the pairs in Round 1 of eliminations would look like:
Champions League - Round 1 of Eliminations
Players mentioned first got to Round 1 based on their #MAcFiT Ranking and are seeded. Players from pre-qualifiers come in reverse order of their scores (ie. the best player from pre-qualifiers faces the last seeded player, the second best gets the one but last seeded etc).

Note: Players in red have been SKIPPED, as all need to submit at least one report over the pre-qualifiers (4 days). Empty slots will be filled by "bye's"

The "bye's" are pretty important. They do not only give promotion to the next Round, but also secure 2 ranking points, which may be handy in the future.
