Season 24: Match Day 1

Hello,
Further to the season announcement, here are the fixtures of Match Day 1.

A warm welcome to debutantes: Hive account@navidjahanshahi and Hive account@caspermoeller89. The latter has just advanced from Hive account@poliac Silver to Golden League and might be a formidable opponent. Hive account@navidjahanshahi, however has joined via the qualifiers (as the second best) but might be a bit of mystery. He will test a seasoned veteran Hive account@manuvert in the first match day.

The schedule is known in advance and everyone can figure out their opponents from the season opening post. I will publish the fixtures 3 days ahead of the given Match Day.

As we can see, the qualifiers are put against pre-qualified players. Who's going to surprise the on-paper-favorite? The last two pairs, however, are formed of players who had earned their entry via Hive account@poliac 24 Golden League performance. Those matches might be close.

Remember to post your Hive account@actifit report for Nov 1 (on the day of the activity, or the day after, both will work). The scores are not exactly equal to step counts. We divide the step count by 1000 and round the result to the nearest integer (0.5 rounds up to 1). Failure to post means a walk-over and 3 walk-overs in the League Stage equal to elimination from the tournament.

After 7 Match Days, the top 8 players will advance directly to the Playoffs, Round of 16 and will be seeded there. Players ranked in places 9-24, will play an additional Knock-out round and its winners will join the R16.
