A pair of 1oz Pure Silver Round remakes of the famous Buffalo Nickel - Buffalo Silver Coins.
Buffalo Silver Coin
Another fine Silver 1oz round from the SilverTowne mint, one of the largest private mints in North America - this one is a Buffalo Nickel remake, a Buffalo Silver Coin. The original Buffalo Nickel - five cent piece - was minted by the United States Mint from 1913 to 1938. Designed by sculptor James Earle Fraser, it weighed 5 grams, and was made with 75% copper and 25% nickel (Source).
Buffalo Side
The Buffalo side of the coin features Black Diamond, a massive buffalo that used to live in New York's central park, as a tourist attraction (Source).
Black Diamond, the buffalo's side profile takes up most of the coin, facing to the left. On the top curve of the coin is the text "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA". Directly above the Buffalo is the text "E PLURIBUS UNUM", the motto of the US, the latin translates to "out of many, one". Across the bottom of the coins, stretched to fit the curve is the text "1OZ..999 PURE SILVER". The original Buffalo Nickel has the text "FIVE CENTS" across the bottom instead.
Reverse Side
The reverse side of the Buffalo Silver Coin features a Native American man's head side profile, facing to the right. Along the top-right curve of the coin is the text "LIBERTY".
You can see the SilverTowne pickaxe mint mark near the bottom of the coin. The original Buffalo Nickel has the mint year on the bottom left of the coin.
The Buffalo Silver Coin is a solid buffalo nickel remake from SilverTowne. I especially enjoy the design with the larger size format with a 1oz silver round. Fine silver additions to the stack.
