This week featuring Tales of Vesperia and Learn Japanese to Survive: Kanji Combat.
Weekly updates on the games I play, fun stuff and the interesting screenshots I take. #ScreenshotSaturday is where I put a digest of my gaming through the week. (In GameDev scene, ScreenshotSaturday is a weekly event for developers to show their progress.)
This week wasn't the biggest gaming week for me recently as I watched anime more than I played games. I wasn't sure if I wanted to write #ScreenshotSaturday for this week and only started writing this in the evening, so here we go:
I played little Tales of Vesperia tried a bit of Breath of Fire and Learn Japanese to Survive: Kanji. The latter one have blown my mind up with how polished it was. Finally I played Fate/Grand Order after downloading Nox the PC/Android Emulator, I wrote a big article on it so I won't put screenshots here.
Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition
I only played a little bit of Vesperia this week. Like only an hour or two. I defeated one of the bosses that defeated me more than once. The story started to pick up after that.
We see Flynn at his lowest since the start of the game. Yuri Lowell got his first character development and the title: Vigilante!* Estelle decided to continue her journey through the world instead of going back to the capital, and I finally learned what "Veperia" stands for in the story~
On on-related note, the reason I didn't play much is because I don't have ghe Switch with me right now. Despite buying a Switch to get a console I can access at all the time, I spent most of this week away from my place and didn't want to bring Switch to my relatives I'm spending time with...
Not sure if his stance is intimidating or is just silly...
Flynn's dilemma is so true...
Am I the only one who's glad that they choose this dialogue to animate?
Hope to play more next week, as I feel that the game has just started. Now I know what Vesperia really means in the context of the game, I see where the story is going more clearly now!
Learn Japanese to Survive: Kanji Combat
Lean Japanese: Kanji Combat is a game I bought at the last Steam Summer Sale. Since I had other games to try before, I tried it for the first time this week. The game is polished way more than I expected! Not only there is a voice acting which I kind of expected, I wouldn't have thought that the main character is voiced, and there are Male/Female options!
I didn't play the Hiragana and Katakana games before this one because I already memorize all those characters, I started with Kanji and I am learning how to play this game along with the characters, there are references to the Katakana War which made me rather curious. The characters are all Japan-fanatics and I think we will get along... I hope...?
I didn't reach the actual battle part of the gameplay, as I'm still in the tutorial and I stopped at the first save point but I re-learned the kanji for Water again...
"That's. Not. Inaccurate...?" Talking about the study seriousness, not the photo. I don't look as pretty.
I this wasn't our teacher, I would mark her a weaboo.
That's interesting way to learn the Japanese characters
As you might've guesses from the screenshots, I think the developers are trying amazingly hard in making the process of learning fun. Giving us interesting characters to get attached to, and a mystery to solve, all in the game's first 15 minutes!
So, that was my week!
Not much to say here... If you enjoyed reading this, I'm happy that you stuck around in the end, and I hope you read my other gaming articles and be here for the next #ScreenshotSaturday.
How was your week?
