Along with my travelling passion that is already kind of popular over here, I do have other hobbies as well, and since I like meeting new people and also letting the members of the blockchain meet me more, today you are going to discover a different Gabriela. A Gabriela that is known as wolfy in the online gaming sessions.
Even though my blog is probably 98% dedicated to the journeys me and my family have roaming Romania, I never stopped thinking about how everything would look like if I would have more diversified content. Would it make me find new friends or look like a weirdo who loves spending time in video games?
It might sound funny but gaming was born way before I started travelling with my family. It was when me and my sister were around 7 years old and we used to spend a lot of time with two neighbours who were playing games both on PC and consoles. We used to meet in the park daily and talk about games, play them on PSP, or even gather together at the homeplace of one of the neighbours who owned a PC and have fun playing games together.
It was a passion kept at the distance because our parents didn't afford to buy us a computer back then until a few years passed and one of the neighbours bought a new computer and decided to donate us the old one he had. It was one of the biggest and purest happiness we felt, but it also represented the beginning of my gaming passion. Years passed and we maintaining the same beautiful relationship meeting either in real life or virtually to play together. The gaming domain might look a little bit toxic when it comes to specific games, but it's also the place where you will build some of the most beautiful friendships.
Anyway, back to the subject of today's post - Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.
I've been a huge fan of the Counter-Strike series long before Global Offensive was released. CS 1.6 actually represents my first online video game ever played, which I first opened when I was 12 or 13 years old. It's also the game where I met my boyfriend around 10 years ago where we played together and talked a lot of stuff ever since. It was one of the most beautiful friendships I ever had even if for a long while was just online, but happily, after 6 years since we were talking and playing together we met in real life too and everything changed.
Even though the Operation Riptide has been released 2 weeks ago already, I hope I'm not too late to the part but I only managed to get it recently and complete the missions from Week 1: Shark Week.
There is a total of 6 missions that can be completed for the total of 13 stars to be rewarded:
- Deathmatch - Mirage - Food Chain: to complete the mission you need to make 10 kills in 10 different locations: A-Site, CT-Spawn, Shop, B-site, Catwalk, Mid, Stairs, A-Site (Repeated), T-Ramp, T-Spawn [★]
- Danger Zone - Blacksite - Blood In The Water: comes with five tasks required: destroy an enemy drone, barrel explosion, destroy a glass, launch a Bump Mine from the top of the Water Tower, rescue a hostage [★★★]
- Competitive - Short Match - Premier: the mission is marked as completed after you either win 1 match or take 21 rounds [★★★]
- Wingman - Extraction: must deal a total of 300 utility dmg to the other players in more than one match or 200 utility damage in a single match [★★]
- Guardian - Blacksite - It's Raining Sharks: where you must protect from getting fragged from an aerial assault by the other players [★★]
- Casual - Group Delta - Feeding Frenzy: you need to either score 30 frags in total on more maps or get 10 multi-kills in a single match [★★]
With the stars gathered from all 16 weeks of missions, you can both level up your badge from the basic iron coin to the gold version of it, or purchase cases, stickers, skins for guns, operators or clothing patches, which you can either use for yourself or consider them a good investment in the future.
It's not a surprise anymore that there are lots of stickers and skins that are these days sold for hundreds and thousands of euros and considering how many fans this game has, you can make a nice profit from everything you own if you wait a few years.

Personally, the hardest missions for me are these from the Danger Zone mode because I've never been a fan of Battle Royale games. On the Competitive and Wingman modes it really depends on the team you are "lucky" to play with and how tactical you play. A similar situation is for the Guardian mode where you play against bots but from a wave to another their skills will be better and if you die once, you will have to start everything all over again. Both Deathmatch and Casual series are like a warm-up for me before I get to play matchmaking, but considering that I had a break of a few months since the previous operation ended I think the score I got on casual (which was the first match played) talks for itself about how much I missed playing this game. 😄
This is my first proper post about my gaming passion which I kept bringing into the discussion from time to time and I felt like making an introduction about how everything started for me and how much I love gaming in my free time even if I don't do this as much as I used to. I plan to dedicate two days of every week for two of the games that I play at least once a few days which will be posted every Monday (CS:GO series) and Wednesday (The crew series). I will keep my travel posts every Saturday with the same desire to promote more the less known gems my country has to offer for worldwide tourism.
This also represents my first post into the Hive Gaming Comunity and I'm sure many of you will understand how I feel in my confessions about gaming and especially these two games, and I can't wait to connect with more people that share the same passion and maybe play together one day!
