My progress so far:
I built a Minotaur mech and began upgrading with Sentinel tech. I already had blueprint for right arm upgrade, and found one for left arm on planet Icianu IV in Rozawanu V system, thanks to my Sentinel drone companion's guidance. Blueprint for legs was obtained by citizen expedition from my settlement. After installing those updrades, the drone gave itself a name, Laylaps. Laylaps gave me coordinates of a Sentinel Walker, for me to get a "brain" out of it. I went to planet Aputon Sigma and took out the Walker to get Pristine Brain. Tethys from Space Anomaly station rewired the brain and gave me blueprint for body upgrade which requires activated Sentinel brain to build. After exposing the brain to Atlas communication replay, it was activated. I went back to my base and completed the upgrade, making my mech autonomous or "alive". Now Laylaps wants to sever its connection with Sentinel Hive completely, which means I need to attack another Sentinel Pillar. (log #24)
I went back to Aputon Sigma and took out another Sentinel Pillar. Laylaps(my drone companion) was completely disconnected from Sentinel Network. After that, I visited two Atlas Stations in Gagasera and Greidon-Toto system, respectively. Visiting Atlas Stations, I was given blueprints for something called Atlas Seed. The previous seed was needed to build the next seed. It felt a bit repetitive, so I decided to stop pursuing this path for now. (log #25)
I resumed following Null's suggestions and met the other two cartographers(Korvax and Gek, I had already visited Vykeen one a while ago) and learned a bit more about their history. Gek invaded and enslaved Korvax, but many Korvax sacrificed themselves by pouring their Nanite Clusters(similar to blood) to Gek spawning pool, making future generations of Gek more docile and ending slavery. Having spoken to all 3 cartographers, I should talk to Null. (log #26)
I landed on planet Oculo in Onbets-Arg system and visited a Holo-Terminus. I climbed up the communication tower and contacted Null.
I told Null about what I had learned from the cartographers and asked about Null's past. Null was a traveler like me, and while exploring the galaxy it met with Atlas. Altas told Null something like "you won't be able to see all the planets because there are too many" and Null was determined to see everything no matter what. And Null did see all the planet of the galaxy somehow. Atlas laughed at it because there are countless universes like that. It seems the whole thing is an infinite cycle of simulation, generated by Atlas. The First Traveler(log #14) must be Null.
According to Null, Atlas stopped communicating with Null and chose me instead to ask for help. Null didn't seem to know why, but it was kind of obvious to me that Atlas rightfully abandoned Null who messed up the whole system(log #20).
Anyway, communication signal from Null began to falter, and I couldn't continue to talk with Null. Right after that, I was contacted by Apollo. It seemed he successfully went out of the portal. He had went into a portal to join me but got caught up with Atlas(log #26).
Apollo asked me to share the coordinates of my current location. We shared each other's locations. We were on the same spot, but Apollo was not here. Likewise Apollo couldn't see me. Same coordinates but different galaxy or dimension, I think.
Apollo and I began to receive distress signal from seemingly the same location. We decided to check it out. It was coming from planet Oculo.
I landed on Oculo and checked the distress beacon. Apollo was not here. The beacon contained an audio log which seemed like a conversation between a traveler and Atlas. Maybe it was Null. The traveler wanted to reset the system and Atlas was trying to persuade not to.
There was an energy surge and I detected a portal nearby. Atlas was trying to contact me. I flew to the portal and activated it.
I went into the portal, then I was floating in the space.
And then, I was in front of Atlas. It looked like a fractured sphere, different from the previous encounter(log #15).
Atlas had a catastrophic system failure. It only had 16 minutes. The world will end in 16 minutes.
But considering that this whole thing is a simulation, how much time do I have actually?
I was teleported to an unknown planet, along with my starship. I turned out that the planet was called Lovingsea Kiryu, in Dudockf system.
I flew out to space and went to a Holo-Terminus on planet Romalto.
The communication network seemed to have problems, but I broadcasted my good-bye message anyway. Something like "good bye everyone, because this galaxy is a simulation and it will end in 16 minutes."
But who knows? 16 minutes might be a thousand years in this simulation.
