"Right then no time to waste, have had a quick rest so time to quickly go clear these zombies out and get my quest rewards" Akira softly said to himself as he walk out the door.
On the outside was a zombie just walking up to try get in to the outpost. Perfect timing for a headshot from the rifle, as he worked to clear the way too.
After a bit of time running and walking to reach the desired house for this quest, it was time to go clubbing inside and I don't mean to have a dance party with the zombies.. that could be a bad dance party and pretty dull!
One zombie was hiding up above in a open section that looks down into the main area, proceeding to fall down after hearing Akira enter the room, the first one to get clubbed to death. A few more followed including one amongst the corn. "At least I am getting myself some corn while I am here" he thought to himself as he moved to the roof. The roof had an undead vulture bird waiting and was the final thing to kill off for the quest. It is a pretty easy quest to complete and it will ensure some nice rewards are gained for helping the trade out.
Back with Trader Hugh, time to turn in the quest and claim 800 Duke's Casino Tokens which is the currency in this post-apocalyptic world, along with 10 pipe bombs which will be a welcome addition!
Some of the items held like the skill books spare, had to be sold to make some room, some money and then another clearing zombies quest to complete nearby while it is still light..
This nearby location will make it safer travelling between the outpost and the current base, due to it being in between the two locations.
There were a few zombies inside the building again, easy pickings with the rifle from a bit further than the previous quest's location, same as up above when killing off an undead vulture.
On the way back and just outside the outpost is a zombie, knock knock knocking away at the wooden pillars. The sun was shining down as it was starting to set and Akira's rifle went POP to watch that zombie drop.
"Well look what we have here" he said as he ran up and opened the loot. Some rifle bullets and some food, along with some stronger armour that can help absorb some damage.
After turning in the quest, getting more pipe bomb ammo, taking another quest for tomorrow and talking to Trader Hugh for a short while, Akira ran back to base to to wait out the night in warmth and safety.
Of course this didn't last long though, he was out and about to gather some nearby raw materials so they could be stored for later use.
It did not stop there, the night time antics continued in a building a bit closer to the outpost which has multiple zombies and loot, including an underground section.
One neat find to replace the club is a shock baton and this was going to be an excellent weapon to have some fun with.. It works wonders at stopping zombies in their tracks while allowing for additional hits to follow-up with.
Mining is currently tough with the stone axe, so it's barely something that Akira bothers with right now. But that was about to change.. for the Working Stiff Tools hardware store was the next stop because he was dead set on finding a pickaxe and this place was quickly showing to be a goldmine!
"Looks like I finally got a pickaxe and this will help me mine my way through buildings with blocked ways or to dig through the stone when base building."
Akira managed to find 3 pickaxes which means there was less chance of needing to use repair kits to repair it, so this also allows storing of 2 as backups as well.
After some time looking around some smaller places, killing more zombies and turning in another quest with Trader Hugh, it was off to what is meant to be a heavily infested building, full of zombies.
It was starting to show quite quickly. "Why hello there and please excuse me, I must insist on you sitting or laying down now!" claimed Akira to the zombies coming for him and rising from their slumber.
Now the attic was also filled with a lot of zombies, so much that a pipe bomb or two were used to try reduce the number quicker than the stun baton will allow. On a lighter note, this was going to benefit him greatly as Akira was able to follow-up all the zombie killing with finding a gun safe, one where the lock can be picked and some extra loot would be found and not too bad, for a smaller find.
But wait... "What was that? It that a zombie close by and I had no idea?"
Right after looting the gun safe and right near to where he stood, Akira was attacked by a zombie and a zombie dog! This brought his health down lower, close to death and he was lucky.. this would have ended badly if he wasn't quick to react.
"I think that's time to call the exploring for tonight and just soak in some moonlight outside of the water tank" Akira thought to himself while bandaging up some wounds and moving outside.
He walked back instead, while reflecting on this near death experience and the success of this run for supplies. He wasn't worried about building up the base for the next couple of days at least! Surviving with supplies is important since his location is pretty secure already.
Follow through the series and see how everything unfolds, for there is bound to be a variety of interesting scenarios that happen!
