Finding out what is wrong with the mayor's wife leads to fights
With all of these quests getting completed it was wise of Octharg to continue on with getting even more completed, and this next one involved helping the mayor of Riverville due to his wife being sick and he had no idea why.
"She will occasionally have these reactions and nightmares that she is talking in and I cannot understand what the meaning is and nobody from the Holy Order, no keepers or anyone can help her" the mayor said in a dull tone of voice like he was about to give up.
"Then I will have to come back later when it is closer to the time of these nightmares and see if I can work it out, because I have heard things and helped others when nobody else could before" Octharg announced with a smile on his face.
The mayor agreed to it and said what time to come back and sit down, so she would be close to that time.
After listening in, Octharg realised it was an otherwordly thing and the reason why nobody was able to hear or understand. He said there was a cove with a shack to be explored and he needed to find any clues as to how Mathilda got to be this way and parted ways for the time being.
"What do we have here. It's another cave I am yet to explore so I better check it out. This are isn't that dangerous so it should be quite easy."
Entering the cave brought out a nice view along with some Fleshless Lost Ones since they are everywhere, but easy to burn down with the flame cloak, same with just in a bit further where there were some cave trolls lurking, ready to be burned by the fire since they hate it completely. Nothing too exciting but some loot was there as well, then it was back to the path to get to the shack.
When he got to the shack he saw a woman walking somewhere that looked like a log storage, before disappearing by teleportation. There was a key to the shack and it would help find the solution to this Mathilda issue and the mayor would be happy, so too would Octharg be for another successful quest completion.
Inside the shack is a complete mess like a fight had been carried out here. Stuff was flipped, broken and all over the place but the visions were happening and some others were apparently involved too.
"Sounds like Mathilda had something to do with this happening in the first place but I wonder what happened for her to cause problems."
After pursuing the mysterious woman to the beach and finding Meldor Featherwall, the mayors brother there, it became clear what was really going on. He was the other half to the reason this all started for Mathilda and he were seeing one another and he didn't want this curse to have been put on her for being unfaithful in marriage. The mysterious woman accept his confession to Octharg and banished him with an explosion of his body and Octharg moved on.
It was a big hike back to Ark after going and turning in the completed quest to mayor Featherwall in Riverville. So before he used a teleport scroll to the Sun Temple, there were a few camps nearby that were unexplored.
These camps were a quick stop off as the Highwaymen and women were weak and stood no chance. It was just to make the land safer for others and to grow his power and loot until he causes mass death and destruction all around Enderal.
Even the spiders were the smaller ones and an easy pick off on this quick run in an unexplored but lovely area to see.
In the Sun Temple was an alchemist and potion store where a quest required turning in unstable components either there, or to the person in the Undercity slums that was wanting to make some potions to sell cheaper for people to afford. It was decided the Holy Order could better manage the components and make potions and some would be able to go to the Undercity to help out some of the people down there.
With the Quest now being completed along with all the hard work done recently, a level up to 21 was achieved and he had no idea how close he was due to how busy the quests had kept him.
"It feels like forever since I was just starting back on my journey, a new journey to reclaim my power and glory that had been stolen from me. They don't know what they are getting themselves into by leaving me alive but of course I had deceived them. They think I turned good ha!" Octharg thought to himself while smirking.
With this hard work comes a weary body and a rest at the inn before the fatigue sets in. Octharg thought about having a day off in between what he was doing and just relaxing in Ark. So that will be his plan and then it will be off to explore elsewhere and work on a quest way off to the east, off in Wellwatch.
This was part 20 in a series accompanying Octharg The Destroyer on his journey to regain his lost power and become the destroyer he once was.
Stay tuned for part 21 and see what befalls our villain.
