Clearing some Destroyed Abbey areas for later
Heading down from the mountain he was camped on and moving to the side of the Destroyed Abbey, looking for other possibilities, Octharg came across a side area with an Elemental Ghost. It was wise for him to take out this enemy first, in case a fight spilled down to this area but as he got closer and was noticed by it he realised it had a devastating attack, one that just made him fly high into the air after a burst of damage.
This quick death was due to lack of awareness and due to stupidity. So this time it was some rapid spell casting and dodging as many attacks as possible, ensuring a quick victory and being able to head back up to the Abbey.
First attempt after getting the attention of all those enemies in the Destroyed Abbey would result in moving away and trying to quickly kill off the Lost Ones, Conjured Guardians and all those weaker enemies which was not going too badly at first, but eventually would see defeat and another death like before resting in the mountain.
"At least I am trying this first before other strategies which I have many of. Something will work and I just need to survive while continuously killing each enemy" he muttered to himself before taking the Monks ice damage and dying.
"Right then, this time is no messing around. Killing off that bloody Monk first and dealing with the others straight after that."
Luckily there were the pillars that could be used to avoid line of sight easily while the Fire Elemental would take the hits and Octharg would deal enough damage to weaken then kill off the Monk and quickly potion up, ready to take out the others.
It took some time to get to the Destroyed Abbey Halls and have a cleared out courtyard, but it finally happened and it was about to get a lot worse inside with less room to move out into.
Conjured Guardians and Wisps, that is what was just inside the first area of the hall so it starts off an easy time, with the usual Psychosis and Dreameater casting, staff of wrath for burning and being quick to take less damage and be prepared. They put up a good fight at least to keep with the strength of the location. Soon, Octharg would get into more trouble again once he moved into the next area just through a short passageway.
"Sick of those stupid Ghost Monks now. Why can't it just get to being easier again, maybe once this area is cleared and I try the next door to see what is there, I will head back to Ark and then out for some questing and leveling to get even stronger" he said as his spectral bow string flung forward and the spectral arrow launched.
It was a first attempt that would ultimately fail badly as the more enclosed space for the halls first room would ensure the amount of enemies would overrun him and kill him.
New strategy came into play this time once Octharg had remembered about the Circle of Protection spell which causes undead to flee and it was a strong one that made them flee for around 25 seconds, this included the monks to his surprise, which meant he was now able to work on killing them with more ease and keep casting it when necessary.
The majority of the enemies were fleeing in fear and they were starting to dwindle in numbers as he took them out, one by one. After a Conjured Guardian was the Monk who had gotten trapped by the circle on Octhargs purposeful placements, then finally the rest of the Lost Ones and enemies were next, getting this whole double room joined by a small hallway all cleared.
The Quarters were up next and a test of if he would keep going, or head back to Ark.
A double handed fireball was cast at the first undead enemy seen, from sneaking of course though.
With the attention of all enemies now focused on finding and killing Octharg, he moved back and cast circle of protection in the passageway to help setup attacks. But when he went around the corner to start killing, he realised there were too many Monks and it was not going to work out well for him, so he got killed off quickly.
In one last attempt to have a final try, he came across the Elemental Ghost that was backed the Monks and even the healing from Life Absorption would not be anywhere near enough...
"Looks like you all are too strong for me so this is my goodbye, as you kill me and I leave this dreadful place until a later time when I will destroy you all!" shouted Octharg the Destroyer before laughing and being killed. This resulted in heading back to Ark with a teleport scroll to get to safety.
This was part 24 in a series accompanying Octharg The Destroyer on his journey to regain his lost power and become the destroyer he once was.
Stay tuned for part 25 and see what befalls our villain.
