Introduction
About two weeks ago I had lunch with someone to discuss about a job opportunity. Anyways we went to this korean cafe called Muko and he treated me for this lunch. I got tons of photos to share! Look forward to it.
mukó
mukó is a Korean Cafe with authentic Korean food. The store is also Halal approved which means that the food is free from anything that Muslims would not be allowed to eat. As Malaysia has a Muslim dominated population, this is definitely good to have for a restaurant in Malaysia. This is the first time I ever visited this cafe. It also has nice reviews on google with a 4.5 rating over 290 reviews. I usually look through google reviews when trying a new restaurant to be sure I won't be wasting my money.
Ambience
I wasn't able to capture the inside since I was a bit uncomfortable since there was a fair amount of people inside. The place was on the first floor so you need to take stairs to reach the restaurant. The inside was fairy spacious and well decorated.
Menu
They had a lot of food to choose from. I had to take over 10 pictures to just capture their whole menu. I think it was nice of them to include a fair amount of photos of the food in the menu so you can kind of see what you are buying. I will just be sharing three photos of the menu so you can see what I'm talking about. I don't want to flood this post with pictures of the menu.
Food
I ordered a vanilla oreo frappe, beef bulgogi bibimbap and the ice cream hotteok. The person I met ordered a bento box with boneless korean friend chicken with the garlic soy sauce. We also shared one korean friend chicken with the original spicy sauce. I will try to cover each of the food that I ate with some description!
This was the Vanilla Oreo Frappe. This was super yummy. You can't really go wrong with vanilla and oreo mixed together!
This was the beef bibimbap which is basically beef, mixed vegetables and an egg. Basically for bibimbap you want to mix everything together and eat it so you can taste everything together. This did not disappoint me. It's kind of hard to describe the taste for this. It's super good it has beef! For those that don't know, I love beef and steak is my favorite food.
This was the bento. I did not eat this so I can't describe it but it looks good!
This was the korean fried chicken with the spicy sauce. This was a bit spicy but I wasn't too fond of the taste of the sauce. It was a bit of a miss for me for this one but I still ate my share.
I thought this was interesting and wanted to feature it for the ED topic of Ice Cream by . This was the Vanilla Ice Cream + Hotteok. This is the first time I ever ate this kind of dessert. For those that don't know Hotteok is basically a Korean pancake filled with a sweet syrup. The Hotteok was warm while the ice cream was cold. It was a great combination. This was absolutely delicious and it's also quite sweet so if you can't handle sweets then you shouldn't order this. There were also some seeds which gave it some crunch since the Hotteok was a bit soft. This is definitely a must try and I would definitely go eat this again.
Concluding Thoughts
mukó is an awesome cafe. I would give it a 9 out of 10. I think overall the food was great and was huge value for the price. I think the miss with the spicy korean friend chicken probably stopped me from giving a 10. The ambience was great and it was amazing how there were so many choices of food to buy and try. The vanilla ice cream with hotteok was to die for! I'll definitely visit again.
