Greetings!
In the past few months, the price of red chili hear in our country has been quite high ranging from $7-$12 USD per kilo. This is actually the first time that I knew of the per kilo of red chili here in our country since I am not buying it from the market. I am casually planting it in my small vegetable garden for my family's consumption.
An opportunity came where I could plant 40 red chili seedlings. With that being said, I bought a red chili seed from a trusted seed seller here in our country a month ago. And today, I was finally able to plant the seeds after the cocopeat that I ordered from an online shop arrived. The name of the red pepper that I bought is "Hot Pepper Upright Bird".
Here's what the seed looks like after I took it out from its sachet. I can't plant them all since the location that I am going to plant can only accommodate 40 seedlings.
Below is the cocopeat seed-raising medium that I bought from the same store where I bought the seeds. This seed-raising medium is soil-less. It only contains cocopeat.
I already have a seedling tray with 50 holes, perfect for the 40 seedlings that I need to raise. I pull all the holes using the cocopeat and pat them down.
And then using my hands I carefully distribute the cocopeat on all of the holes. But I have worn a glove so that the cocopeat will not be contaminated by the natural oil coming from our hands. But I am hoping that my hands do not get that much oil and will not have a huge impact on the cocopeat.
Then one-by-one I planted the seeds in each of the holes. I planted 40 seeds since I need 40 seedlings, but I should have planted 50 since there is a chance that not all of them will germinate.
Then I carefully water them down using a spray. I used a sprayer because using a dipper will likely erode them away from the holes.
I am hoping that all of them will germinate
That is all for now guys, catch you up with the next one. Wishing you all safety, good health, and abundance.
