I keep thinking the season is just about over, and my plants keep making a liar out of me.
Above: Blueberry Cherry Tomato
The Camper Garden has 6 potted plants left: One SpaceMaster 80 cucumber, One Blueberry Cherry tomato, one Sweetie Cherry tomato, one White Cherry tomato, one Tigerella Tomato, and one Ukrainian Plum tomato. There's a lot of white cherry, sweetie, and blueberry cherry on the vines, still to ripen. There's a couple of Ukrainian plums, and a few Tigerella left. Maybe 2 cucumber, too.
Below: This Tigerella is almost ripe, for the pluckin'
Below: The Spacemaster80 Cuke is hiding behind some cherry tomato, trying to get there, too!
As I think about the garden at the camper, I am planning ahead for next spring. To that end, I have created a raised bed of sorts, to plant some more flowers in come spring time.

As I start to make the bed, I realize, the ground below is dreadful. It's sandy, and terribly clustered with pine tree roots. VERY plant-unfriendly.
I am building up the soil, and planning on using the newly added mounds for flowers come spring time. I've cut the bottoms from the Salvia pots, to allow the roots the freedom to snake their way down. As soon as these rains stop, I'll return to making this bed a healthy place for spring planting.
Come fall, as you put your gardens to be, what steps do YOU take?
