Hive Garden
I am very grateful for the Hive eco system. It has given me a good opportunity to share my experience of sustainable gardening and farming. .
I don’t want to prolong this post, so I will keep it short and simple, I would like share about Garlic plant , Solanum trilobatum , Rangoon creeper and other gardening flower. Why I am sharing this because every living organism is depend upon one living to another.
Garlic plant :
I would like to share with you how to grow garlic plants in a home garden. It can be sown directly in the ground, or started off in small pots if you have heavy soil.
I will share the step-by-step process of how the garlic plants grow in my home garden with the help of organic fertilizer without any chemical. We will get healthy and tasty garlic.
Garlic is most often planted between late September and November. Right now we are in September, so let’s try to grow garlic.
I bought those garlic bulbs from a local farmer with good dry condition. By planting garlic bulbs in the soil, they have time to develop healthy roots and leaves.
Before planting, we need to enrich the soil by adding fertilizer into the soil several inches below where the base of the garlic cloves will rest.
Plant in rows spaced and each garlic plants will yield around 4 to 5 bulbs of garlic. Let see during harvesting time. I will share the growth process step by step in my upcoming post. #gardenjournal #gardening #vegetables
Solanum trilobatum – also called as Thuthuvalai
Hi Gardener In my home garden, most of the plants and trees have two purposes: they are used for garden decoration and also for health benefits.
I believe that the human body has the capability to fight against all sicknesses, so we must intake organic fruits and vegetables. That’s why I always plant herbs that have medicinal uses.
One of these herbs is thuthuvalai, which has amazing health benefits for us. Its leaves are traditionally used for treating cold, cough, asthma and also thyroid problems. At home, we mainly use it for treating cold and cough.
I got this information from my grandmother, who was an authority in traditional home remedies. She used to make a rasam out of thuthuvalai leaves by grinding them along with other ingredients, whenever a family member got a cold. She was a good doctor for me.
She also shared some other properties of thuthuvalai, such as anti-cancer, mosquito repellent and anti-bacterial.
We make dishes like dosai, rasam and soup with thuthuvalai twice a week in my home. In my upcoming post, I will share those recipes too.

Rangoon creeper- It’s also called as Madhumalti plant
I planted the Rangoon creeper, so the plant with attractive flowers attracts day-flying honey bees. As you know well, bees are part of the biodiversity and they help plants reproduce. The plants survive by preventing inbreeding. So good bees are mandatory in our ecosystem I hope you like this plant and its benefits for the environment.
While we are planting vegetable or fruits plant in garden or farming, we must think smart and sustainable way to save all our eco system without using any chemical use. #gardenjournal
In my upcoming post, I will share some interested research or ideas for gardening or farming purpose.
