What a lovely way to remember your mother. Strawberries bring up special memories of my grandfather, as well, so your remembrance is particularly poignant to me. I hope the plants continue to thrive together!

We do the same with our turmeric as you have done with the ginger! As we harvest, we break off small bits of the root and drop it right back in the dirt. This past year was the largest harvest we've ever gotten, so it seems to be a perfectly simple way to grow more. We just got a good ginger start from one of the lovely vendors at our farmers market, so hoping we can do the same with ginger going forward, as well!
