This is a traditional Vietnamese dish called Bánh Tét.
It's seasoned pork in the middle, rice and mung beans on the outside, and then wrapped in a Banana Leaf.

Once they are tightly wrapped in the Banana Leafs they get tied and sealed.
Bánh Tét ready to cook!
The cooking is a long process, but part of the tradition.
My job to start the fire
Enough wood stocked behind me to burn all night..
The Bánh Téts will boil for 10 to 14 hours. The cooking is starting now, but won't be ready till morning tomorrow.
Myself and my brother-in-laws will take shifts to keep the water full and the fire strong!
On the fire! 14 Hours to Go!
What are you guys doing for Lunar New Year?
