First of all, lemme assure you this is not the usual diet we had in the country. However, during the holy month of Ramadan, Muslims will practice fasting during the day. Therefore, by evening after sunset prayer, our Muslims friends will break the fasting day and start eating again. Well, the religion doesn't mean to ask their follower to have a splurge dinner, but usually we business associates would like to take this opportunity to have fun and enjoy a buffet dinner together with our Muslims client.
Just like any other buffeet dinner, the price will not be "cheap". I've been digging everywhere trying to find something special, and to my surprise I found an event management company that actually host a "wedding dinner" style kind of buffet dinner. They built a tent at the parking lot, making sure we have enough space for parking, at the same time does not bother the nearby residential area. After knowing they also have food stall being invited into the food range, we decided to take this opportunity to make it a feast towards the end of the fasting month.
69 bucks per head isn't cheap at all. However, the event management make it a package for early bird. I booked for a table of 8, and got charged 520 bucks. In a way, a small discount compare to buying individual entry ticket. Moreover, usually hotel buffet dinner would cost more than 100 per head count. Therefore, it's already a huge bargain for me. Most importantly, we have couple of hours to sit down, eat and chat at the same time.
I'm not going to spend time explain one by one on the food range, generally they're very similar to what we can find in Indonesia. But one thing I need to highlight was the chili topping grilled catfish. It's amazingly good and I only hope o have enough room to eat more. One thing I missed, was the ice cream. As you can see the chiller on the 4th photographs above. They even have a range of ice creams and toppings to make our own bowl of banan split. Anyway, calories count already gone, and if you must know how much I are? That 2kg worth of food. I hope I already shit them all out today 🤣
