Do you run into out of idea what to take for to your breakfast? I do, like this morning while on the way to work at 8am.
As today is a Saturday, one of my favourite stall that sells chicken rice is too crowded on Saturday as it is à non working day. Many regular customers would bring along their family members for breakfast or a few friends would get together for the cheap and yet delicious chicken rice.
So, I ended up taking this simple "nasi lemak" and a glass of "teh tarik" for breakfast.
For your interest, nasi lemàk is a popular food for breakfast in Malaysia. A simple and basic nasi lemak consist of rice, slice of cucumber, fried ikan bilis, peanut, slice of boiled egg and topped with sampal. Rice is boiled together with a few pandàn leaves for its pleasant aroma.
For some who like me more variety, there are top ups which may be a piece of fried egg, chicken rendang, fried chicken, squid, mutton, beef etc. Most of the dishes are cooked with curry and normally not so spicy.
I have a glass of teh tarik after finished eating the nasi lemak.
