Hello, Hiver friends! It's weekend and I decided to prepare a scrumptious combination of Filipino and Italian breakfast. Sharing my day with you is truly fantastic. I sincerely hope you are enjoying your weekend with your family and loved ones and that everyone is in the pink of health.
Having breakfast set the overall mood for the day, providing an inner sense of tranquillity. This is the reason why breakfast is sometimes referred to as "the most important meal of the day." Breakfast, as the name implies, breaks the overnight fast. It also provides other essential nutrients for optimal health while refilling your glucose supply to boost your energy and alertness.
At 4:30 a.m., I get up, offer a day of gratitude prayer, do my routine of fitness activities, and then take a shower. I must keep myself in good spirits because I have the responsibility being of charged with caring for two individuals and I do not want to be unwell.
My son and I are having white pasta for breakfast today. He adores pasta, particularly carbonara with olives and croutons, and I use chicken (steaming it first, then frying and slicing it into small chunks so he can masticate it suitably)
instead of bacon since it's pricey, then top with a little sweet basil and, of course, the delectable white sauce. My pasta's ingredients differ slightly from those of my son's. I steam the chicken instead of frying it. To save time in the morning, I prepared the two ingredients—pasta and chicken—the night before.
My son always drinks milk after every meal. He has special needs and milk is an essential prerequisite for him. For my beverage, it's a mug of
"tsokolate or sikwate", a Filipino chocolate drink.
As for my mother's breakfast, she prefers "suman." A traditional Filipino delicacy. The essential ingredients of suman are sticky rice, sugar, and coconut milk. The delicacy is wrapped in banana or coconut leaves and steam-cooked. If kept at room temperature, it goes rancid in two days; if kept in the refrigerator, it keeps for a week (I bought suman from the delicacy shop adjacent to our house).
Just like me, she paired her "suman" with "tsokolate or sikwate." A smooth, thick hot chocolate is referred to as tsokolate/sikwate or just "chocolate" in the Philippines. The ingredients used to make this product are tabliya or tablea, which are made from pure, finely ground, roasted cacao beans dissolved in water using the baterol (I buy tablea every week in the supermarket because it's our favourite morning beverage).
Breakfast is not complete if we have no fruits as it is substantial for our body. For our "cera gana" or dessert, the mouthwatering strawberries!
This is our breakfast for the day. How about you fellas?
Thank you for this incredible contest.
It's almost a month since I participated in the contest! That's been quite a long time.
Thank you for fetching around and checking out the post. Catch you on my next blog.
