These days, the weather in my city is often anomaly. From morning to noon, the weather will be very hot and in the afternoon it will suddenly rain heavily. The atmosphere is rainy and cold, most suitable for eating soup with warm rice, it must be delicious.
Do you also like to eat soup? Soup is one of the most popular dishes in the world. Soup is a soupy food made from meat, bones, fish, chicken, vegetables or mushrooms that are boiled using various spices. Conceptually, food ingredients are cooked / boiled for a long time to get tender meat and delicious soup broth. I believe soup is one of the oldest dishes in the world. How to make it very easy, because it only boils food ingredients with water.
In Indonesia, we know that there are many variations of soup that we can try, such as tunjang soup, mutton leg soup, holy soup, kalantin soup, galantine soup, konro soup and sipirok soup. One of the most famous soup menus in Indonesia is in my city, namely Soup Sipirok. This time I bought Sipirok Soup from Sipirok Restaurant located at Jalan Sunggal no. 14 Sei Sikambing Village, Medan Sunggal District, located not far from my parents' house and the son of the owner of this restaurant was also a friend of mine when I was a child.
Sipirok Soup
Sipirok is the name of a city located in the province of North Sumatra, Sipirok is in a hilly area with an altitude of 1200 meters above sea level so the weather is very cold, and maybe this is what initiated the presence of Sipirok soup.
Sipirok soup uses buffalo meat and ribs and that makes it different from other beef soups that use beef or mutton. Another characteristic of this soup is the salty and savory taste that is so strong that you have to use rice to eat it. If you try to eat this soup without rice, it will taste very salty (for those who are not used to it).
What's so special about this sipirok soup? Soup Sipirok lies from the secret ingredients they use. According to my friend (son of the owner of the Sipirok Restaurant), every three o'clock in the morning the process of boiling the buffalo meat begins so that the seasoning soaks into the marrow and bones. For the meat, they always get the best quality meat. If you want to add flavor, you can add chili or lime juice.
This sipirok soup will increase your appetite, slowly one serving of rice and will continue until the gravy from the soup has started to run out. The sensation of biting the flesh that sticks to the bone also makes us even more excited to eat it.
I don't know if there are scientific studies on soup and its benefits for the body, but I believe eating soup is much better than food cooked by frying or grilling. When we are sick, we usually make warm soup to make it easier for us to eat. Perhaps, each of us must have memories with a bowl of soup.
