Photos from the Small Bar I helped to get started.
Hello Friends,
I have been living in Vietnam now for about 3 years. WOW, time flies so fast; it seems like WAY less, but here we are, 3 years in Nam, and I love it. lol.
When I first went here, I met a lady outside a gym I was going to. At first, I thought she was trying to scam me, but we talked and, over time, grew close as friends. I met her family and sisters; we went on a few trips together. I can say now that she is a good friend who I trust. Lol, it only took 3 years!
A few months ago, she asked if I would be interested in investing in a bar she was planning to open in Hoi An. I knew her business sense was on point, and she was a hard worker, so I agreed. With a small investment, I became a 25% silent partner in the bar. So much fun.
Then she went to work fixing up the place.
We had a few bad storms, several typhoons, and such, but the process is nearing completion. Yesterday I went to see the progress as we were a few days away from opening. We would have opened today, but the larger storm over the last few days washed out a few roads making delivery of goods hard, and did some damage, so delayed a bit.
Let me introduce you to "Hi 5" in Hoi An!
I designed that logo for the bar as well. I will do a post about the design process on that later on. :)
Below you will find a medley of photos I took of the bar yesterday. They were a bit rushed as we were going to get hit with another rain storm, and well, I wanted to get back to Da Nang (About a 40 min drive from Hoi An) before that storm hit.

I don't think I will get rich from this new project, but I enjoy helping my friend reach her goal. It is important to her, and she is very passionate about it. I want to see her succeed, and I believe that she can with this project. It is a great opportunity for her to learn and grow. I am excited to see what she accomplishes.
I will also be a silent partner in the project as well, so perhaps my role will be motivation. I will be there to support and encourage her, but I will not offer advice or suggestions (Well, perhaps a few). I think it is important for them to have full ownership of this project, and I believe that they will be able to make it a success. I am confident in their ability to see this project through, and I am excited to see what they can achieve!
If you come through Hoi An, stop by Hi 5 and say hi. Perhaps by then, you can pay with HIVE as well... Phew, that would be SO cool!
Thanks for reading, I hope you have a great day.
