Hi Hive Lovers
If any of you are very afraid of the increasing cholesterol content in your body, then you avoid some of the delicious foods available in nature.
One of the delicious foods that is very popular with many people is seafood and crab, which is one of the foods that is considered to have high cholesterol content, and some people really avoid it. Are you one of them?
Crab of choice
I received another gift from a very kind friend of mine. He had sent some choice crabs for me.
These crabs are the choice because they are laying eggs, and crab eggs have a much better taste than their meat. Egg-laying crabs are very rare because they have a very limited spawning season.
The crab that I received was a type of mangrove crab that he got around his house, which is in the mangrove waters around the estuary. I visited it some time ago, and at that time we also hunted wild crabs there.
Wild mud crabs are much more delicious than crabs raised in captivity in cages. Wild crabs can eat their food freely compared to farmed crabs, whose food is limited. People there say that what crabs consume will also affect their taste.
Crab breeders breed them, and more often they are harvested when molting occurs as soft shell crabs. People prefer soft shell crabs because eating them is easier than eating hard shell crabs.
Binds cholesterol?
It's a bit scary. What I mean is the cholesterol content of crabs, one part of seafood that has been suggested as a food that causes an increase in bad cholesterol (LDL).
The orange ones are crab eggs, which taste very delicious. Is that the center of the cholesterol content in crabs?
The cholesterol content of crab is almost equivalent to the cholesterol content found in other seafood, namely shrimp, shellfish, squid, and so on.
That is why it is not recommended to frequently consume seafood so that people do not complain about the increasing content of bad cholesterol in their bodies.
In my opinion, the assumption that seafood contains high cholesterol is not entirely true. Actually, what is wrong is the way it is processed by frying it. Frying prawns, clams, squid, and crabs is a common way of processing that is done by Indonesian people. It is indeed very delicious, but very dangerous.
Cholesterol in seafood will increase sharply due to the mixture of saturated fats in the oil used when frying. The saturated fat content can cause an increase in bad cholesterol in the blood and is very dangerous for the blood flow system in a person's body.
