Hi hi.. morning... Hive account@luueetang here. I hope that you have had your breakfast. It is currently 9:13 AM here in Miri, Sarawak. There is a shop that sells affordable chicken rice at around RM 4.20 / USD 1.05 . Prices were RM 3.70 and USD 0.75 cents. Inflation.

Roasted drumstick. In soy sauce. The best roasted chicken from my view has to have meat that is tender and with almost no fat. Usually, I go for the popular shops here. Why? This means that the food has a higher turnover rate. More customers, more food that needs to be ordered fresh and served fresh.

This shop serves only chicken rice.

That is the owner and I believe that the lady in black is his wife. So sweet.

My wife suddenly craved for chicken rice these couple of weeks. So we have been checking out places around the city that specially cater to chicken rice.

We ordered similar dishes. Roasted chicken rice . Drum stick.

Only at RM 4.20. That's the price for each plate of chicken rice here at this shop. It is located in the city centre.

The rice

Chicken rice here in Sarawak are cooked with chicken essence. The oil that drips from the chicken is used to cook chicken rice which gives it the wonderful aroma of a plate of chicken rice. This shop makes really good rice which doesn't clump. There are places where I've eaten rice that clumps together.

Milk Tea and a cup of coffee

A cup of coffee with milk that has a slightly bitter and creamy taste.

The average price for a plate of chicken rice here in Miri is around 4.50 or about USD 1.10 . There are some who complain about the price given it is already pretty affordable. Do check out Country Chicken rice if you have a chance to visit Miri in the future. =)
