It's been a while since I last visited Kuching. At least a decade ago. The day started off with a beautiful start. The airport was full of passengers. No quarantine needed for domestic passengers. The check all the passenger's vaccination certificate. My wife and I had three shots already.

Long hallways. The first thing was the toilet. I recorded a ton of video on this trip using my GoPro. A 100 gb of video. I was here to have my wife's passport renewed. Kuching is the capital city of Sarawak.
I am going to write about the places I have visited throughout the whole trip. I went to the cat museum, a blue lagoon, natural history museum. Kuching is huge.

Anyways, after my toilet visit, I was searching for the exit.
Luggage section

Collected my luggage here. Then out of the airport. I pre booked a rental car that I wanted to drive for the next couple of days.
It's been almost two years since I last sat in a plane. Wow. It felt amazing. High above the clouds. The turbulence as the planes flies into the dark clouds.
Out of the airport.

There are two storeys. The first floor is for the arrivals and the upper floors are for departures.

The building's architecture is similar to Miri's airport. This airport is a lot bigger.
My wife posing with our bag

We had lots of Mickey stickers on our bag to be able to quickly identify our bag when it gets to the luggage collection conveyor belt. In case someone else has the same similar luggage bag.

The view of the airport from the highway. The weather forecast. Rain. Thunderstorms.
My ride for the couple of days I was there.

The first place that we were headed to was the Brunei's consulate.
Located inside Riverview Hotel.

Sarawak river is located at the back of this building.
The operating hours of the consulate

When we arrived, they were out for lunch. So the next thing that we had to do was to head to the hotel.
A short introduction of Kuching

This is the island of Borneo. Sarawak is highlighted in the red line.
Kuching is the Sarawak's capital city

On the map are the four main cities of Sarawak. Along the way there are other towns. Miri is next to Brunei. Sabah and Sarawak borders Indonesia and Nusantara, Indonesia's new capital will move to somewhere in Kalimantan. I am staying in Miri and I had two choices. Drive to Kuching from Miri which takes 12 hours to 14 hours depending on your drive. Or by flight which takes only 1 hour. So I decided to take the plane and rented a car there.
Kuching was James Brookes administrative capital when he ruled Sarawak. A lot of Sarawak is currently forest. A lot of what he built is still here till this day. Some of the places in Kuching dates back to the 1800s.
