The recipe that I am going to share today is known as Khichuri in our region. Khichuri is a nutritious dish made with rice, but the method of preparation is slightly different. Hope you like the recipe.
Cooking Ingredients:
- Rice
- Dal (two types)
- Onion
- Raw chilies
- Ginger garlic paste
- Radiant leaves
- Cinnamon
- salt
- Turmeric powder
- Coriander powder
- Cumin powder
- Chilli powder
- Cardamom
- Oil.
Method of cooking:
First, I will soak the rice with two types of pulses for some time and then keep the water in a separate container.
Then I put a pan on the stove and heat it and put oil in it, followed by bay leaves, cinnamon and cardamom. After some time I chopped the onion and fried it lightly.
Then I added ginger garlic paste, turmeric powder, chili powder, coriander powder, cumin powder and salt. Then mix all the spices and grind them.
Once the masalas are ground, I mix the soaked rice and dal with them, add a little water and then add the raw chillies and cover with a lid.
In this way, I cooked covered for quite some time, when the amount of water reduced, I removed the lid and checked with my hands whether the rice was cooked well? When it boils and the water dries up, take it off.
Our today's khichuri is ready, then served with chopped onion, lemon and raw chillies, it's really tasty to eat.
