This week, a woman in our village made Ambok and sold it at all the people’s house. When she came to our house, she called me to buy her Ambok. She said that she had just returned from her hometown and that she had brought new rice and made this Ambok. I bought three cans of her Ambok for price is $1, 25 cents.
In my language we called it is Ambok and I don’t know what they call in English. Then I wrote Ambok recipe in my language in YouTube and I saw so many people called it is pounded rice. Normally, we eat pounded rice with coconut water and with bananas and with other things. But today I wanted share a snack recipe is fried pounded rice with bananas (នំអំបុកបំពងឬនំក្រម៉ៅថត) with you all.

វិធីធ្វើនំក្រម៉ៅថតឬនំអំបុកបំពង
Ingredients
- 2 cups of pounded rice
- 1 cup of coconut meat
- 1 cup of coconut milk
- 3 sweet bananas
- 4 tbsps palm sugar or taste
- 1/3 cup of crispy flour
- 1 tsp salt
Put pounded rice, coconut milk, palm sugar, coconut meat, crispy flour, salt and mixed it well together. Cuts bananas like small.
Then take a pounded rice on our hand and do it like roti and put a banana on it and close it like ball or as we like.
Then heat oil and deep fried it until brown.
It’s easy to make eat and delicious snack. I share it with my neighbor’s kids, they always coming for play with my daughters every day. They said it’s delicious and they have never eat before.
