How often do you eat local food in your country?
Talking about food will certainly never end. Each region has its own special food which is a source of pride for the region.
Enjoying certain foods from certain areas of Indonesia is very easy. It was not difficult to find places to eat that served the unique foods of different areas.
Anyone can enjoy typical foods of another area without coming to his home territory. Just find people who sell them near where they live.
As I am doing now, I really miss the typical food of the area where I used to live, namely, Garut district. I am currently in South Tangerang district. So I don't need to go to Garut district, just look for a place to eat that sells Garut district specialties here in Tangerang district.
I will introduce a place to eat that is quite famous, namely "Sinar Garut Boga Sari" why is it quite famous? Yes, because it has many branches in several areas.
This place provides a variety of menu choices, with the main menu "Bubur Ayam" and several types of desert such as "Es Teler".
Bubur Ayam (chicken porridge) may not be a foreign menu, in various countries there must be a unique way of presentation. This is what is unique, the way each region innovates and makes it have certain characteristics.
This place is also my favorite place to eat chicken porridge.
"Bubur Ayam" is a popular menu among Indonesian people, a simple menu that can be found in many places.
Generally, the main component is porridge made from bland white rice and topped with shredded fried chicken, soybean, crackers, fried onions or leek and added with salted ketchup or your own concoction of spices. In fact, each region has its own variations in the presentation of "Bubur Ayam". The "Bubur Ayam" menu has been innovating a lot.
However, for the type of "Bubur Ayam" for sale this place there is additional toppings such as
"Cakwe" (source) dan "Sistik" (source)
It was so palatable because the seasoning directly mixed with the porridge. In addition to using salted ketchup, I don't know exactly what the seasonings are, which really tastes on my tongue is dominant savory, tastier than any other flavor of porridge. If you want to add a spicy taste, you can add the sambal which is also provided.
For information, most Indonesians enjoy chicken porridge in the morning as a breakfast menu. However, some chicken porridge merchants stay open until the evening, so anyone can enjoy chicken porridge, not only as a breakfast menu, but also at lunch or dinner.
Now interestingly, the chicken porridge available at "Sinar Garut Boga Sari" is open until midnight.
This time I had chicken porridge at midnight, a different sensation, it was very delicious.
The "Bubur Ayam" sellers in Indonesia is identical to the use of a cart as a place to sell, either by walking around or by having a special place for customers. There are tables and chairs available for customers to eat the chicken porridge.
Well, "Sinar Garut Boga Sari" provides a place that is quite comfortable and simple for customers to enjoy the food menus they sell. Still has a characteristic, namely by using a cart as a place to process "Bubur Ayam" and other menus.
There is one more thing that should not be forgotten when eating "Bubur Ayam" which is the accompanying menu "Sate" which is made from chicken liver, chicken intestines, or quail eggs pierced with a small bamboo skewer processed by boiling or frying with a savory taste.
The combination of "Bubur Ayam" and "Sate" makes a delicious combination.
Another menu that I ate was ice "Es Teler" which is a fruit cocktail native to Indonesia, the menu which is included in the desert category is very fresh to eat during the day when the weather is hot. But that doesn't stop me from enjoying it in the middle of the night. Ha ha.
When I eat it I feel the freshness of the finely grated ice resembling snow. Plus the sweet and savory taste that comes from coconut milk and sweetened condensed milk. There are 3 types of fruit in it, namely young coconut, avocado and jackfruit. Jackfruit makes the aroma a distinctive aroma. The combination of all the elements makes it sweet, savory, flavorful and fresh. Delicious.
The price for each menu is very affordable, the price for one portion of "Bubur Ayam" and "Es Teler" is Rp. 13,000.00 IDR and Rp. 15,000.00 IDR or around 1 $ USD the price of each menu.
There was something very interesting when I was enjoying the food. There was a street musician performing in front of me, performing a good song. My culinary journey has been perfect this time.
Next time I will try another menu, I hope you don't get bored reading it.
Thank you everyone.
Enjoy!
