The fragrant smell of smoke coming from the satay grill really pierced the nose up to the crown. Several servants were seen passing by, taking the baked satay meat, then deftly serving it to the guests. Sweat poured down their faces, not infrequently their eyes watery as a result of exposure to smoke. This is how the workers at the satay stalls in my town go about their nightlife.
