If I could tell my childhood self that I would one day carry around a pocket-sized device that could make video calls and take pictures and play music and movies and tell me how to get to far away places, kid me would say she couldn't wait for that day to come.
But if my adult self could go back to my childhood self and run carefree across the land, splash in the water and muck through the mud, rock hop and poke at pollywogs with my best friend without scheduling work and checking the time and worrying about how well I can monetize these precious moments with an inadequate imaging device, she would want to stay there, at least a little while longer.
Sometimes she does.
