Good day everyone. Today my post entry is about a cosplaying event that I have attended last August. I've never been to an event like this before. I just watch this type of event in youtube and this is my first time seeing so many people cosplaying an anime character. Most of them I didn't even know because I rarely watch anime these days. Mostly, I only read the manga and I'm quite picky on what to read and follow. So, in this event I managed to get an approval from the cosplayer to take their portrait and I only shoot the character that I know or that I found unique.
God of Death Character. I didn't find this in any of the anime and I think this is an original character that this person created. The details of his mask and his scythe is quite remarkable.
Inosuke Hashibira of the Demon Slayer anime.
The trio main character of Demon Slayer anime. From the left Zenitsu Agatsuma, Tanjiro Kamado and Hashibira Inosuke.
The portrait of Zenitsu Agatsuma.
The portrait of Hashibira Inosuke. I have this pose in mind for quite sometime because I've seen the anime or manga version of Inosuke doing this pose. So I thought to recreate it with this cosplayer.
Recently, a friend share a local news that a cosplayer got caught by a police for showing up with a sword in cosplaying event. I'm quite disappointed with this kind of news because I'm very sure that the event organizer is very strict with the rules and not allowing a real sword or knife to be showcase in public. Most of the cosplayer itself build this props on their own using a very safe material like a polystyrene Foam and Cross Linked Polyethylene which is not a real sword. It is understandable that these kind of event must be regulated for the sake of public safety but imposing to strict rules is just going to kill these kind of events. Not to mention that the amount of hard work the cosplayer take to build their props and costume just for this event and end up getting into jail for a few days for not applying a permit to the police.
Good thing that the event that I attend didn't have this kind of issue. The news that my friend share to me probably happen in the west Malaysia side and I'm living here in east Malaysia, the island of Borneo. I'm looking forward for more event like this in the future. Seeing these creative people showcasing their ability to create and mimic anime character and their props do inspired me. This is a 2 days event and the photo that I show here is only the first day in which I did come quite late already in the evening. You can find the color version of my photo in this first day event Here.
Until the next post. Have a great day everyone.
