Yesterday and the previous day, I have shared some photos of Rome with a black and white filter in my previous two posts. This post will be the last of the Ancient Rome series as part of the #monomad challenge. I will wait for the next journey for new Rome photos. I'm not sure about the next, some monochrome filter photos may come from Italy again.
The play between light and shadow that are highlighted in the black and white photos with the simplicity of the emphasis on shapes is seems really cool. Historical textures of the objects bring to the mind the vitality of the past with the appropriate contrast.
Here are some photos that I have taken inside the Castel Sant'Angelo.
The room where everyone is looking upwards with their photo. Outside, street performers entertain crowds of people who come to visit the castle or take selfies in the shadow of the round walls.
The view of Rome from the castle is beautiful and there are several beautiful rooms to see. Depending on when you go, many rooms may be closed, but it's still worth the visit.
There were so much to discover at this great Roman castle. I guess I have spent about a couple of hours touring the entire castle.
This museum is popular, but not as crowded as other attractions in Rome. A very atmospheric building just a short walk from St. Peter's, you can explore different floors and rooms. From the top you can enjoy a beautiful view of the city.
It's interesting how the mood changes with the highlights or shadows. The historical textures revealed through layers of paint and time-worn objects impact the soul if we focus inside the images...
