Welcome to the Sapoara Fair in Ciudad Bolivar/ Venezuela.
In my city on the banks of the Orinoco River, the Sapoara fair is taking place, a season that is celebrated annually in the month of August, due to the fact that the flooding of the river at this time blesses us with the abundance of this fish.
Just as there is an abundance of Sapoara, there is also an abundance of other fish such as the so-called "Bocachico" 🐟. This fish is my favorite fish and fortunately also my son's and my close relatives, so today we woke up very early to go buy a few of these fish and be able to give us a good taste at lunchtime. 😋
The way we cook this delicious river fish is fried and we accompany it with a salad, a few boiled vegetables, avocado and our typical "casabe".
For us Bolivarenses it is a tradition to eat this fish every year, but the most important thing for my family is to sit down and share this delicacy while we enjoy a hearty conversation.🦋
